The former Mino-machi Line terminus
The station opened at this location on October 11, 1923. Its building, platform and tracks were retained after the Mino–Shin-Seki section closed in April 1999. Walk through the former transport hub and see the relationship between its timber station and tram platforms.
Three preserved trams and railway panels
Three trams associated with the line—Mo 512, Mo 601 and Mo 593—stand by the platforms, accompanied by railway panels. Compare body shapes, liveries and windows from outside. The station and rolling stock make a compact stop alongside a historic-district walk.
Mo 512 interior restriction
Current tourism-association guidance identifies Mo 512 in its photographs as closed to interior entry because of deterioration and corrosion. Plan around exterior views and panels rather than using its seats. Open 9:00–16:30 October–March and until 17:00 April–September, closed Tuesdays and New Year holidays.
Three minutes on foot from Mino-shi Station
Walk about three minutes from Nagaragawa Railway’s Mino-shi Station or drive ten minutes from Mino IC. Admission is free, and the association directs motorists to municipal parking. Visit the former station from the operating railway station, then continue on foot to the historic district. Match the return journey to train times and the former station’s closing time.
Combine sights, meals and local travel
After the station and railcars, shop for prepared food in Tawara-machi and travel onward to the Sodai hotel. Kiraku closes Wednesdays and Sundays and finishes at 17:00. Tawara-machi parking serves a short town visit, while hotel parking is for guests. Allow for the suspended interior access to car Mo512.
