常滑屋｜土管工場を改装した店で常滑ちらしと白老

常滑屋は、栄町のやきもの散歩道で、常滑焼の器と地元の食材を組み合わせる店です。木造の元土管工場を生かし、食事スペースとギャラリーを備えています。地魚の常滑ちらしや急須でいれるお茶を通じて、陶器を使う時間も楽しめます。

地魚と常滑焼を合わせた常滑ちらし

常滑ちらしは、黒鯛、ゼンメ、キスなど、その時季にとれる地魚を使う手こね風のちらし寿司です。魚の内容は季節によって変わり、地元作家の器に盛り付けられます。知多半島の野菜や、しろたまりなど地域の調味料も料理に用い、焼き物と食の両方に触れられます。

急須の煎茶と2階のギャラリー

食事だけでなく、常滑の急須でいれる煎茶セットも用意されています。1階の食事スペースから、2階の常滑焼などの展示へ立ち寄ることもできます。器の形や手触りを見た後にお茶を飲むと、散歩道で見た急須を実際に使う場面を想像できます。

金曜夜は白老と料理を楽しむ時間

通常は10～16時、月曜定休です。金曜は18～22時も営業し、系列の澤田酒造が醸す白老と料理を合わせられます。金曜夜向けには、常滑ちらしと地域の調味料を使うおつまみの組合せもあります。金曜以外の夜は予約で相談する営業形態で、昼間と同じような自由来店の時間帯には含まれません。

栄町の散策と組み合わせる食事処

所在地は栄町3-111で、常滑駅から徒歩約8分です。駐車場もあります。陶磁器会館や土管坂を巡る散策に組み込みやすく、昼食を取る場合は16時までの営業時間を見込んで歩けます。金曜夜に地酒を楽しむ場合は、電車や徒歩での移動を組み合わせられます。

常滑市の観光・宿泊・食事と駐車を組み合わせる

市内のやきもの散歩道の散策と、駅近くのホテルルートイン常滑駅前での宿泊を組み合わせられます。歩いて巡る日の駐車には常滑市陶磁器会館駐車場も候補です。昼16時までと金曜夜の営業を使い分け、器の展示や散歩道の買い物と合わせて食事時間を取れます。

Tokonameya combines Tokoname pottery with local ingredients on Sakae-machi’s Pottery Footpath. Its former wooden clay-pipe factory contains a dining area and gallery. Local-fish chirashi and tea brewed in a pottery teapot let visitors experience the ceramics in use.

Seasonal fish chirashi served in Tokoname pottery

Tokoname chirashi is a hand-mixed style of sushi using seasonal local fish such as black sea bream, ponyfish or Japanese whiting. The fish changes with the season and is served in local makers’ pottery. Chita Peninsula vegetables and regional seasonings such as shiro-tamari also feature, bringing ceramics and food together.

Teapot-brewed sencha and the upstairs gallery

Alongside meals, a sencha set is brewed in a Tokoname teapot. The first-floor dining area is complemented by upstairs exhibitions of Tokoname pottery and other work. Viewing the shapes and textures before taking tea adds practical context to the teapots encountered along the walking route.

Friday evenings pair Hakurou sake with food

Normal hours are 10:00–16:00, closed Mondays. Friday service also runs 18:00–22:00, pairing food with Hakurou sake from affiliated Sawada Brewery. Friday-evening choices include Tokoname chirashi with small dishes using regional seasonings. Evening use on other days is arranged by reservation rather than treated as an open drop-in session.

Fit a meal into a Sakae-machi walk

The café is at 3-111 Sakae-machi, around eight minutes on foot from Tokoname Station, with parking available. It fits into walks around the Ceramics Hall and Dokan-zaka; allow for the 16:00 daytime closing when planning lunch. Train and walking access also work for Friday evenings with sake.

Combine Tokoname sights, stays, dining and parking

Combine Pottery Footpath with a station-area stay at Hotel Route-Inn Tokoname Ekimae, using Tokoname Ceramics Hall Parking when parking for a walk. Choose daytime service ending at 16:00 or Friday-evening dining, allowing time for pottery displays and shopping along the route.
