大手門駐車場は、姫路城の南側、本町68番地にある終日営業の平面駐車場です。城の正面入口へ徒歩約10分の車の拠点として、天守の見学と城下の散策を合わせられます。普通車等は最初の3時間以内600円、3時間を超えて入庫から24時間以内900円。出庫待ちも料金計算に含まれ、事前精算後に追加料金が生じる場合があります。高さと長さの両条件に該当する大型車、障がい者減免、EV充電はそれぞれ別条件です。閉鎖中の大手前公園地下駐車場と取り違えず、戻る時刻と精算を選んでください。

城南の平面駐車を、正面入口への徒歩で選ぶ
姫路城の南側にあり、正面入口まで徒歩約10分という案内です。普通車等555台のうち身障者用は8区画、大型バス45台の平面駐車で、収容数は繁忙期等に変わる場合があります。車を置けば城下へ歩けますが、天守の玄関や上階まで10分で到着する条件ではありません。入城口からの坂と階段、見学の待ち時間を別に加えてください。満空やイベント時の動線を確かめ、戻る方向と荷物を考えて車の拠点を選べます。
3時間600円と24時間900円を、実際の出庫までで比べる
普通車等は最初の3時間以内600円、3時間を超え24時間以内900円です。入庫時刻から24時間が1日なので、日付が変わる時点までの暦日上限とは違います。2026年9月7日の告知は、混雑時の出庫待ちも利用時間に含むことを案内し、事前精算後でも追加料金が生じる場合があります。城の見学や食事を3時間に収める予算なら、車へ戻ってから出口に出るまでの余裕も残してください。24時間を超える精算や再入庫は現地の条件を確認し、900円が全ての滞在を一律に覆うと見込まないでください。
大型車の両条件と、別地下駐車場の封鎖を確認する
車高2.6m以上かつ全長5m以上に当たるバス・キャンピングカー等は、1日1回2,500円です。どちらか一方だけを満たす車まで大型料金とせず、車体を照合してください。一方、長さ16m以上・幅2.5m以上・高さ3.8m以上のいずれかに該当する車両と牽引車は利用不可。予約は受けず、場内での宿泊もできません。名前の近い大手前公園地下駐車場は、2026年2月20日23時に封鎖し改修中という別施設の案内です。地下の閉鎖を大手門へ広げず、入口と車両の利用条件を確かめられます。
減免は精算前に、EV充電は駐車料金と別に手続きする
対象の障がい者手帳の本人または介護者は5割減免の案内があります。普通車等は当日の精算前、事前精算も行う前に、駐車券と手帳を用意し、9～17時の現場詰所か精算機横のオートフォンで手続きします。17時以降はコールセンターのみ。大型区分は利用1週間前までの事前申請が必要で、当日や精算後に申請できる条件ではありません。EV充電は北東区画6台分、55円/10分で通常の駐車料金も必要です。充電カード・対応アプリを用意し、充電だけの料金で駐車まで済む前提にしないでください。
城下の車から、駅側のおでんと宿へ移る
見学には姫路城、駅北の食事には酒饌亭 灘菊かっぱ亭、駅南の滞在にはホテル日航姫路を選べます。城下・東駅前町・南駅前町は同市の別地区で、食事へ往復する徒歩やバスも駐車時間に加わります。ホテルの1泊1台2,000円は専用・契約先の優待条件なので、大手門の24時間900円と用途を分けて比較し、車を移すか置くかと出庫待ちを見込めます。
Otemon Parking is an all-day surface lot at Honmachi 68 south of Himeji Castle. About ten minutes on foot from the front entrance, it offers a car base for keep visits and castle-town walks. Ordinary vehicles pay ¥600 within the first three hours or ¥900 for over three hours and within 24 hours of arrival. Exit waiting counts towards charges, so an extra fee can arise after advance payment. Large vehicles meeting both height and length criteria, disability discounts and EV charging have separate terms. Distinguish this lot from the closed Otemae Park Underground Parking, planning your return and payment.

Choose the southern surface lot by the walk to the front entrance
The lot lies south of Himeji Castle, with a listed ten-minute walk to its front entrance. Surface capacity is 555 ordinary spaces, including eight disability spaces, plus 45 large-bus spaces; busy-period arrangements can change the count. The entrance walk is separate from reaching the keep’s doorway or upper floors. Add slopes, stairs and sightseeing queues after admission. Check availability and event traffic, choosing a car base around the return direction and luggage.
Compare ¥600/three hours and ¥900/24 hours by actual exit
Ordinary vehicles pay ¥600 within the first three hours or ¥900 for over three and within 24 hours. The 24-hour day begins at arrival, rather than ending at midnight. The September 7, 2026 notice says exit waiting counts towards parking time; extra charges can arise after advance payment. If budgeting for a three-hour castle-and-food visit, leave time after returning to the car to reach the exit. Check longer stays and re-entry on site without assuming ¥900 covers every duration.
Check both large-vehicle criteria and the separate underground closure
Buses or campers at least 2.6 m high AND 5 m long cost ¥2,500 per entry/day. Check both dimensions rather than applying this category when only one is met. Vehicles at least 16 m long, 2.5 m wide OR 3.8 m high are excluded, as are towing vehicles. Reservations and sleeping/camping in the lot are not allowed. Similarly named Otemae Park Underground Parking is a different facility, closed from 23:00 on February 20, 2026 for renovation. Verify the entrance and vehicle terms separately from that underground closure.
Arrange discounts before payment and EV charging separately
Eligible disability certificate holders or carers receive a 50% discount. Ordinary vehicles arrange it on the day before any payment, including advance payment, with ticket and certificate: use the on-site office 09:00–17:00 or the payment-machine autophone; after 17:00 only the call centre is available. Large-category vehicles need application at least one week before use, not on the day or after payment. Six northeast EV spaces charge ¥55 per ten minutes plus normal parking. Prepare a compatible charging card/app; charging payment alone does not cover parking.
Travel from castle-town parking to station-side oden and lodging
Choose Himeji Castle for sightseeing, Shusantei Nadagiku Kappatei for station-north food and Hotel Nikko Himeji for station-south lodging. The castle area, Higashiekimaecho and Minamiekimaecho are distinct sites in the same city; walking or buses to and from food add parking time. Hotel guest parking costs ¥2,000 per car/night under its own and contracted-lot terms. Compare its purpose with Otemon’s ¥900/24-hour rate, deciding whether to move the car and allowing for exit queues.
