弥生橋の先にある青島神社で、海辺の岩の景色とビロウの木々、山幸彦ゆかりの神話に触れる参拝。社殿から元宮への道も予定に加えられます。通常の参拝は日没までで、2026年秋の夜間特別開放は開催日と料金が別条件。日中と夜のどちらで訪れるかを決めて回れます。

海の景色から、社殿と元宮の道へ進む
青島の周囲には「鬼の洗濯板」と呼ばれる波状の岩が広がり、島内にはビロウを中心とする植物群落があります。神社は山幸彦にあたる彦火火出見命、豊玉姫命、塩筒大神をまつります。参拝のあとに元宮へ向かう道と絵馬掛けを見れば、海辺と木々の中で違う景色をたどれます。
日没の閉門と、授与・祈願の時間を分ける
通常は6時に開門し日没まで参拝できます。お守り等の授与所は夏8時・冬8時30分から17時まで、御祈願は8時～17時で個人初穂料5,000円からです。早朝の参拝と授与所の利用を一緒に予定する場合は開始時刻を合わせてください。季節区分や祭礼時の受付は神社へ確認できます。
2026年秋の夜間参拝は、対象日と入島料を確認する
AOSHIMA Night Upは2026年9月18日～11月29日の金・土・日・祝日に開催されますが、10月16・17・18日は休止です。10・11月は18時～21時、受付終了20時30分。6歳以上1,000円（税込）、5歳以下無料で、夜間参拝と日向神話館の特別観覧を含みます。準備のため開始約30分前から無料の入島・参拝ができなくなるので、夕方に向かう日は切替時刻も確認してください。
青島駅から歩き、神話館は別の見学として加える
神社の案内ではJR日南線青島駅から島内まで約800m、徒歩約10分が目安です。青島参道から島内へ車は通れないため、車は陸側で置いて参拝へ向かいます。日中の日向神話館は大人600円、中高生400円、小学生300円、幼児無料の別料金。展示も見る日は、入館の受付時間を合わせて確認してください。
青島で泊まり、中央通の夜食へつなぐ
青島のANA ホリデイ・イン リゾート 宮崎へ泊まるなら、朝の参拝と客室の利用時間を合わせられます。陸側の青島参道南広場駐車場は暦日単位の有料駐車です。中央通の釜揚げうどん 戸隠 本店は別エリアで19時から営業するため、市街地への移動と帰りの交通を加えて予定を組んでください。

Continue from the coast to the shrine and Motomiya path
Wave-shaped rocks known as the Devil’s Washboard surround Aoshima, while biro palms characterise its vegetation. The shrine enshrines Hikohohodemi, associated with Yamasachihiko, Toyotamahime and Shiotsutsu-no-Okami. After worship, follow the path and votive plaques toward Motomiya to compare coastal and wooded scenery.
Separate sunset closure from amulet and prayer hours
Regular gates open at 06:00 and close at sunset. The amulet counter opens at 08:00 in summer or 08:30 in winter and closes at 17:00. Formal prayers run 08:00–17:00, with individual offerings from ¥5,000. Coordinate an early visit with counter opening and check seasonal or festival arrangements.
Check eligible dates and admission for autumn 2026 evenings
AOSHIMA Night Up runs Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from September 18 to November 29, 2026, except October 16–18. October/November hours are 18:00–21:00, reception until 20:30. Admission is ¥1,000 including tax for ages six and older, free for younger children, covering evening worship and special mythology-museum viewing. Free access ends about 30 minutes before opening for preparation.
Walk from Aoshima Station and add the mythology museum
The shrine lists roughly 800m, about ten minutes on foot, from JR Aoshima Station. Cars cannot continue from the approach road into the island. Daytime Hyuga Mythology Museum admission is separate: adults ¥600, junior- and senior-high school students ¥400, elementary pupils ¥300, preschool children free. Check museum reception hours if adding exhibits.
Stay in Aoshima and plan a Chuo-dori evening meal
A stay at ANA Holiday Inn Resort Miyazaki can pair morning worship with room hours. Mainland Aoshima Sando Minami Hiroba Parking charges by calendar day. Togakushi Main Store on Chuo-dori opens at 19:00 in a separate city-centre area; allow travel and return transport.
