岐阜市歴史博物館は、2026年11月3日のリニューアルオープンを予定しています。11月2日までは改装休館中のため、通常の開館時間を見て出かけないようにしてください。再開後は戦国時代を中心とした展示やデジタル画像を使った紹介が加わり、岐阜公園の散策と合わせて歴史に触れられます。

11月3日は通常と異なる時刻で開場する
再開初日は、1階の無料エリアが10時、2階総合展示室が11時30分から開場する予定です。通常の9時開館とは違うので、朝から有料展示を見たい場合も初日の時間に合わせてください。1階では岐阜まつりのからくり人形実演も予定されており、展示見学とイベントの時刻を分けて考えると動きやすくなります。
新しい総合展示と特別展を分けて選ぶ
総合展示は戦国時代を中心に、館蔵資料のデジタル画像を取り入れる予定です。特別展「動き出す浮世絵展 GIFU」は2026年11月6日～2027年1月11日の予定です。
再開後の料金と休館日を確かめる
再開後の常設展は高校生以上460円、小中学生230円です。本館常設展と分館の共通券はそれぞれ660円・330円になります。通常は月曜、祝日の翌日、12月28日～1月3日が休館で、月曜が祝日なら翌日が休みです。臨時変更もあるため、連休の翌日や年末年始は開館日を確かめてください。
バス停と駐車場から歩く時間を見込む
JR・名鉄岐阜駅から長良橋経由のN系統バスで約15分、「岐阜公園・岐阜城」から徒歩3～5分が目安です。博物館に専用駐車場はなく、岐阜公園の堤外駐車場からは徒歩約10～15分かかります。車を止める時刻と入館時刻を同じにせず、雨の日や歩行に時間が必要な場合は余裕を持たせましょう。
長良川の宿と食事を日程に合わせる
宿泊は都ホテル 岐阜長良川も候補です。鮎料理の川原町泉屋は飲食営業を2026年11月17日までとする予定なので、訪問日と予約可否を先に確認してください。駅で乗り換える方は岐阜シティ・タワー43地下駐車場の条件も確認できます。
Gifu City Museum of History plans to reopen on November 3, 2026. It remains closed for renovation through November 2, so normal opening hours do not apply before then. The renewed galleries will focus on the Sengoku period and incorporate digital collection images, complementing a walk through Gifu Park.

Allow for special hours on November 3
On reopening day, the free first-floor entrance area is scheduled to open at 10:00 and the second-floor main gallery at 11:30. Do not expect the usual 09:00 opening. Gifu Festival mechanical-puppet demonstrations are also planned downstairs; distinguish event times from gallery access.
Distinguish the renewed gallery from the special exhibition
The main gallery will focus on the Sengoku period and include digital collection images. Ukiyo-e in Motion GIFU is scheduled for November 6, 2026–January 11, 2027.
Check the new fees and regular closing days
After reopening, permanent admission is ¥460 for high-school age and above and ¥230 for elementary/junior-high students. Combined main-gallery and branch tickets are ¥660 and ¥330 respectively. Regular closures include Mondays, the day after public holidays, and December 28–January 3; a holiday Monday moves closure to the following day. Temporary changes may apply.
Allow for the walk from bus stops or parking
N-route buses via Nagarabashi take roughly fifteen minutes from JR or Meitetsu Gifu Station. Walk another three to five minutes from Gifu Park/Gifu Castle stop. There is no dedicated museum car park; the walk from the park’s riverside parking takes around ten to fifteen minutes. Allow extra time in rain or when walking slowly.
Coordinate a riverside stay and meal
Consider Miyako Hotel Gifu Nagaragawa for a stay. Ayu specialist Kawaramachi Izumiya plans to end dining on November 17, 2026, so check dates and reservations first. For station transfers, see Gifu City Tower 43 underground parking.
