池のまわりを歩き、松や灯籠、築山の景色を近くから眺める兼六園。金沢城公園に隣接する回遊式庭園で、駅周辺から足を延ばす金沢観光の目的地になります。到着する季節と入園口を決めておくと、庭園を歩く時間と次の食事の時間を配分しやすくなります。

霞ヶ池と灯籠を目印に歩く
兼六園は、歴代の加賀藩主が長い年月をかけて形づくった庭園です。園内の見どころマップには霞ヶ池、徽軫灯籠、唐崎松、梅林などが掲載されています。入口から全部を急いで回るより、見たい景色を数か所選び、池を巡る歩行と立ち止まる時間を取ってみてください。
10月16日からは、朝も夕方も時刻が変わる
通常の開園は3月1日～10月15日が7時～18時、10月16日～2月末が8時～17時です。最終入園はそれぞれ閉園30分前。遅い午後に着く日は、入園できる時刻と園内を歩ける時間を分けて考えてください。ライトアップの夜間開園は開催日の案内を確認する必要があります。
早朝の無料入園は、入口と退園時刻を確認する
早朝入園は蓮池門口・随身坂口に限られ、通常の有料開園15分前までに退園する案内です。10月1日～15日は5時～6時45分（最終入園6時30分）、10月16日～31日は5時～7時45分（最終入園7時30分）。他の月は開始時刻も変わるため、訪問月の公式表で確認してください。
駅からのバスと、園内の坂を見込む
管理事務所のアクセス案内は、金沢駅から「兼六園下・金沢城」までバス約12分、桂坂口まで徒歩約5分を目安にしています。待ち時間や道路状況は別に見込んでください。園内には坂があり、小立野料金所周辺は比較的平坦との案内があります。車いすなどを利用する方は推奨コースと入口を事前に確認できます。
車の観光と、駅周辺の宿・食事をつなぐ
車で来る方には兼六駐車場の案内があります。駅周辺のホテル日航金沢を拠点にする方や、黒百合で食事する方は、庭園から金沢駅へ戻る移動時間も一日の予定に入れてください。
Kenrokuen invites a walk among ponds, pines, stone lanterns and landscaped hills. This strolling garden beside Kanazawa Castle Park makes a destination beyond the station area. Choose an entrance and check seasonal hours before dividing the day between the garden and a meal.

Walk with the pond and lantern as landmarks
Successive Kaga lords developed this garden over many years. The official sights map includes Kasumigaike Pond, the Kotoji stone lantern, Karasaki pine and the plum grove. Choose several places to see and allow pauses around the ponds instead of rushing through every stop.
Hours change on 16 October
Regular opening is 07:00–18:00 from 1 March to 15 October, then 08:00–17:00 from 16 October through February. Last entry is 30 minutes before closing. For a late-afternoon arrival, consider both the entry deadline and walking time left. Night opening for illuminations requires checking the event date.
Check early-entry gates and departure time
Free early entry uses only the Renchimon and Zuishinzaka gates, with departure required 15 minutes before regular paid opening. For 1–15 October it is 05:00–06:45, last entry 06:30; for 16–31 October it is 05:00–07:45, last entry 07:30. Starting times differ in other months; check the table for the visit month.
Allow for the bus approach and garden slopes
The management office lists about 12 minutes by bus from Kanazawa Station to Kenrokuen-shita/Kanazawa-jo, then about five minutes to the Katsurazaka entrance. Allow extra time for waiting and traffic. The garden has slopes, while the Kodatsuno entrance area is comparatively level. Check the recommended accessible route and entrance when needed.
Connect garden parking with a station stay and meal
Drivers can consult Kenroku Parking. If based at Hotel Nikko Kanazawa or eating at Oden Kuroyuri, include the journey back from the garden to Kanazawa Station.
