熊本城では、天守内の展示をたどり、復旧が続く城内の姿を見学できます。城の歴史を見たあとに展望フロアへ進むと、街並みと城の位置関係を見比べられます。2026年11月1日までは秋の催しに合わせた夜間公開中。通常の開園時間、当日の入口、立ち入れる場所を分けて訪問の予定を立ててください。

天守の歴史を見てから、街の眺めへ進む
天守の展示は、築城から西南戦争、再建、2016年の地震と復旧までを模型や映像でたどる構成です。6階の展望フロアでは城と熊本の街を見渡せます。外から眺める大小の天守と、展示で知る建物の歩みを合わせると、現在の姿がどのように残されてきたかを考えながら見学できます。
秋の夜間公開と、通常の季節時間を分ける
2026年10月2日～11月1日は9時～21時、最終入園20時に延長されています。通常は9月～翌6月が17時まで・最終16時、7・8月が19時まで・最終18時です。通常の天守最終登閣はそれぞれ16時30分・18時30分。夜間公開の登閣や入口の扱いは、その日の案内を確認してください。
入園券と、曜日で変わる入口を確認する
個人は高校生以上800円、小・中学生300円、未就学児無料です。団体料金は有料入園30名以上が対象となります。通常の平日は南口、土・日・祝は北口・南口が案内されていますが、工事や催しで変わる場合があります。秋の「城あかり」期間は北口券売所を平日17時30分～20時、土日8時45分～20時に開く案内なので、通常の曜日だけで入口を決めないでください。
公開中の天守と、入れない建物を区別する
天守の復旧と、城内全体の復旧は別に進んでいます。本丸御殿は立入不可、宇土櫓は解体復旧中という案内です。2026年9月18日更新の周辺施設案内では熊本城は営業中ですが、わくわく座は臨時休館とされています。通路や周辺施設を含めた最新の公開範囲を確かめ、現地の誘導に従って見学してください。通常休園日は12月29日で、荒天などによる臨時休園もあります。
二の丸の駐車と、中心部の滞在・食事を合わせる
車での見学は熊本城二の丸駐車場の最終入庫と閉場を確認できます。中心部のホテル日航熊本と、下通の菅乃屋 銀座通り店を合わせる日は、それぞれへの移動と食事の受付締切を加えてください。城の夜間延長を、飲食店や無料シャトルバスの延長と同じ条件にはしないで予定を組めます。

Follow keep history before looking across the city
Models and films trace the keep from construction through the Satsuma Rebellion, rebuilding, the 2016 earthquake and restoration. The sixth-floor observation area looks over the castle and city. Connect views of the two keeps outside with the building’s story inside.
Separate autumn evening opening from usual seasonal hours
October 2–November 1, 2026 extends opening to 09:00–21:00, last entry 20:00. Usual September–June hours end at 17:00, last entry 16:00; July–August at 19:00, last entry 18:00. Usual final keep admission is 16:30 or 18:30 respectively. Check evening keep access and entrances for the date.
Check admission tickets and day-specific entrances
Individual admission is ¥800 for high-school age and older, ¥300 for elementary and junior-high students, and free for preschool children. Group rates require at least 30 paying visitors. Usual entry is south on weekdays and north or south on weekends and holidays, subject to work and events. Autumn Kita-guchi ticket-office hours list weekdays 17:30–20:00 and weekends 08:45–20:00.
Distinguish the open keep from inaccessible buildings
The keep’s restoration does not mean the entire castle is restored. Honmaru Palace is closed to entry and Uto Turret is undergoing dismantling and repair. The September 18, 2026 update lists the castle open but Wakuwakuza temporarily closed. Check routes and nearby facilities, following local directions. The usual closure is December 29, with possible weather closures.
