横浜の海辺の街歩きから少し離れ、本牧で庭園と古建築を訪ねる三溪園の散策。明治の実業家・原三溪が護り伝えた文化遺産と自然を、歩く順路に沿って見ていく旅先です。建物の公開状況を確認し、庭園の散策と山下公園・中華街への移動を別に予定してください。

庭園と建物を、歩ける順路で選ぶ
公式の散策案内には、見どころを巡るじっくりコース、車いすでも観覧できる施設を紹介するバリアフリーコース、本牧市民公園へ抜ける40～60分のコースがあります。園内は砂利道のため、歩きやすい靴で訪ねてください。選ぶコースと立ち寄りに合わせ、帰りの移動までの時間を取れます。
旧矢箆原家住宅の公開休止を確認する
旧矢箆原家住宅は屋根の葺き替えと耐震補強のため、2026年1月21日から公開休止です。工事は2027年3月末までの予定と案内されています。2027年4月からは旧燈明寺三重塔の修繕工事が予定され、素屋根で囲われる案内もあります。現在の住宅の休止と、来春以降の塔の見え方を区別して訪問日を考えてください。
閉園前の入園と、料金の区分を見る
通常は17時閉園で、入園は16時30分までです。イベント時は時間が変わる場合があります。横浜市内在住の65歳以上には個人700円の区分がありますが、住所と生年月日を確認できる本人確認書類が必要です。旅行者全員にこの料金が適用される案内ではありません。
本牧までの交通と、園の駐車場を確認する
鉄道・バスの利用は公式アクセス図で乗り場と降車後の経路を確認できます。園の正門に隣接する普通車駐車場は予約不可で、最初の2時間1,000円、以後30分200円、日中の上限なし。現金の千円札と硬貨で精算する案内です。山下公園の駐車場とは所在地も料金も異なります。
山下公園と中華街へ移動する時間を取る
ホテルニューグランドの滞在や、萬珍樓本店の食事と合わせる日は、本牧から山下町への移動が必要です。海辺を歩く車の旅には山下公園駐車場の案内があります。庭園見学の終了時刻と次の目的地を分けて組んでください。
Beyond Yokohama’s waterfront streets, Sankeien in Honmoku offers a walk among gardens and historic buildings. Follow a route through nature and cultural heritage preserved by Meiji-era businessman Hara Sankei. Check building access and allow a separate journey to Yamashita Park or Chinatown.

Choose a walking route through the garden and buildings
The official guide offers a detailed sights route, an accessible route showing wheelchair-accessible facilities, and a 40–60 minute route through to Honmoku Shimin Park. Gravel paths call for comfortable walking shoes. Allow time for the selected route, stops and onward travel.
Check the former Yanohara house closure
The former Yanohara house has been closed since 21 January 2026 for reroofing and seismic work, scheduled through March 2027. Repairs to the former Tomyoji pagoda are planned from April 2027, when a protective covering will obscure it. Distinguish the house’s current closure from the pagoda work planned for next spring.
Check last entry and the applicable admission category
Usual closing is 17:00, with admission by 16:30; event hours may differ. The ¥700 individual category for Yokohama residents aged 65+ requires documents verifying address and date of birth. It is not a general senior visitor rate.
Plan the Honmoku approach and garden parking
Check bus stops and the final approach in the official access guide. Car parking beside the main gate cannot be reserved: ¥1,000 for the first two hours, then ¥200 per half-hour, with no daily maximum. Payment uses cash in ¥1,000 notes or coins. It is separate from Yamashita Park Parking.
Allow an onward journey to the waterfront and Chinatown
