長等山の中腹に広がる三井寺で、金堂や鐘楼、観音堂を巡り、石段の先から大津市街と琵琶湖を眺める参拝。正式名称は長等山園城寺で、天台寺門宗の総本山です。広い境内で見たい場所を選び、16時の受付締切と体験・特別拝観の実施日を合わせて回れます。

金堂、鐘楼、観音堂から、展望台へ巡る
仁王門から、国宝の金堂や「三井の晩鐘」で知られる鐘楼へ。金堂は桃山時代を代表する建築として案内され、観音堂は西国三十三所の第十四番札所です。観音堂からさらに石段を上がると大津市街と琵琶湖を望む展望台があります。建物を見る参拝と、階段を上る展望を組み合わせて、歩く範囲を選べます。
2026年改定の入山料と、本人限定の免除を確認する
2026年3月1日から個人の入山料は大人800円、中高生500円、小学生300円です。30人以上の団体は700円・400円・250円という別区分。障害者手帳提示による拝観料免除は本人のみで、同行者も一律無料とはされていません。駐車料金は入山料と別に、自家用車600円、中型2,000円、大型3,000円です。
16時受付と、体験・客殿の停止期間を分ける
通常の拝観は9時～16時30分、受付は16時終了です。文化財収蔵庫は参拝案内で9時30分開始とされ、同じ16時受付終了です。各種体験の予約は2026年10月1～15日、10月25～31日、11月1～10日に停止。光浄院客殿・勧学院客殿の特別拝観は文化財調査のため2026年12月1日～2027年7月31日に停止する案内です。それぞれの対象を確認し、通常の境内拝観と区別して予定を組んでください。
京阪三井寺駅か、寺の駐車場から向かう
参拝案内では京阪石山坂本線の三井寺駅から徒歩7分、大津市役所前駅から徒歩12分です。JR大津駅または大津京駅からは京阪バス「三井寺」下車すぐの経路があります。境内では観音堂や展望台へ石段を上るため、駅までの移動と寺内の歩行を別に見込めます。車で訪れる場合は寺の有料駐車場を選び、帰路の混雑や入山時刻を合わせてください。
湖岸のホテルと、逢坂山の食事へつなぐ
浜大津側の大津市浜大津公共駐車場に車を置いて鉄道移動を組む場合は、通常料金と指定乗車券の優待手続きを照合できます。湖岸の琵琶湖ホテルと、大谷町の逢坂山かねよ レストランは別の目的地です。寺の受付16時、食事の中休みや定休日、宿泊の到着時刻から順番を組んでください。

Continue from Kondo, the bell tower and Kannon Hall to the viewpoint
From Niomon Gate, visit National Treasure Kondo Hall and the tower associated with Mii’s evening bell. Kondo represents Momoyama-period architecture; Kannon Hall is stop 14 of the Saigoku Kannon pilgrimage. Further steps above Kannon Hall lead to a viewpoint over Otsu and Lake Biwa. Choose a route combining temple buildings with the uphill view.
Check the revised 2026 admission and holder-only exemption
From March 1, 2026, individual admission is ¥800 for adults, ¥500 for junior/senior-high students and ¥300 for elementary pupils. Groups of 30 or more pay ¥700/¥400/¥250. The disability-certificate exemption applies to the holder alone. Parking charges separately: private cars ¥600, medium vehicles ¥2,000 and large vehicles ¥3,000.
Separate 16:00 reception from experience and guest-hall suspensions
Regular visits run 09:00–16:30, with reception ending at 16:00. Visitor information gives the cultural-property museum a 09:30 start and the same reception deadline. Experience reservations are suspended October 1–15, October 25–31 and November 1–10, 2026. Special visits to Kojoin and Kangakuin guest halls are suspended December 1, 2026–July 31, 2027 for cultural-property surveys. Check the relevant activity separately from regular grounds admission.
Approach from Keihan Miidera Station or the temple car park
Visitor information lists a seven-minute walk from Keihan Miidera Station or 12 minutes from Otsu Shiyakusho-mae. Keihan buses from JR Otsu or Otsukyo serve the nearby Miidera stop. Allow separately for steps to Kannon Hall and the viewpoint inside the grounds. Drivers can use paid temple parking, coordinating arrival before reception closes.
Continue to lakeside lodging or Osakayama dining
For rail travel from Otsu Municipal Hamaotsu Public Parking, compare the ordinary tariff with the procedure for eligible-ticket discounts. Lakeside Biwako Hotel and Osakayama Kaneyo Restaurant in Otani-cho are separate destinations. Arrange the order around the temple’s 16:00 reception, dining breaks/closures and hotel arrival.
