Mikado stands beside the Kiji River in Nibukawa Onsen, in the hills of Tamagawacho. Its twelve rooms are mainly Japanese-style, and the hot-spring bath looks into the green valley. Meals draw on local mountain and sea ingredients, including inobuta hot pot. The hillside location makes the dinner start time and arrival arrangements useful parts of the overnight plan.
At a glance
| Stay times | Check-in 16:00; checkout 10:00; dinner must start by 19:00 |
|---|---|
| Rooms | Eleven Japanese-style rooms and one Western-style room, twelve in total |
| Facilities | Free parking for twenty cars, Wi-Fi and covered bicycle storage |
| Location | 773-1 Kanoe, Nibukawa, Tamagawacho, reached toward Nibukawa Onsen from Imabari Interchange |
Riverside rooms and a hot-spring bath
Eleven of the twelve rooms are Japanese-style, with views toward the stream and trees; selected rooms include a massage chair. The bath uses alkaline Nibukawa hot-spring water, listed at pH 9.8, and its windows frame the valley. Wi-Fi is available throughout the property except the bathing area, supporting a quiet stay beside the river.
Inobuta hot pot and dinner timing
The usual dinner-and-breakfast stay includes a kaiseki meal using local mountain and sea ingredients, with an individual inobuta hot pot. Dinner must begin by 19:00. There are no restaurants or convenience stores close to the hot-spring district, so room-only and breakfast-only stays need meal planning. Any dietary or menu requests should be arranged with the accommodation booking.
From the cycle route into the hills
The route from Imabari Station is about thirteen kilometres with a climb of around two hundred metres. For arrivals at the station after 17:00, the inn recommends leaving bicycles nearby and continuing by taxi or bus to meet dinner timing. Covered storage or reception storage, bicycle stands and maintenance tools are available. The dedicated bicycle storage area is closed at night.
Reservations and small-dog conditions
Check-in starts at 16:00 and checkout is at 10:00. Reservations can be made by phone or online; requests through the contact form become confirmed after the inn responds. Twenty free parking spaces are provided. Small indoor dogs require a direct telephone booking: roughly four kilograms or less, trained, carried in a cage in communal areas, with food and personal supplies brought. The supplement is ¥2,500 per dog before tax.
