佐田沈下橋駐車場は、四万十川最下流の沈下橋を見学するための無料駐車場です。車を置いて川沿いへ歩き、欄干のない橋と周囲の山々の景色を楽しめます。

国道441号線から向かう

通常は市街地から国道441号線を進み、佐田沈下橋の道路看板で左折します。市街地から県道340号線へ直接入る経路には自動車の通行規制があります。

2026年10月2日付の観光協会告知では、佐田トンネル修繕に伴い、10月19日～11月19日は全面通行止め、11月19日～12月10日は片側交互通行が予定されています。規制時間は8時30分～17時で、原則として土日は工事を行わない予定です。工事の進捗により変更される場合があります。

観光協会は写真付きの迂回路を案内しています。途中に約350mの狭い区間があり、大型バスも通行可能との案内ですが、対向車とのすれ違いに注意が必要です。

バスの駐車

通常はバス6台分を利用できます。ゴールデンウィークとお盆は大型バス2台までに制限されます。誘導員がいる場合は案内に従って駐車します。

橋は地域の生活道

佐田沈下橋は今も生活道路として使われています。橋の上を歩くときは車の通行を妨げず、欄干のない端から離れて景色を楽しみます。

訪問時間を組み立てる

中村駅から橋へは車で約15分。四万十町中央ICからは約1時間15分が目安です。増水で川に沈む構造の橋なので、現地の通行規制に従って見学します。

Sada Chinkabashi has free visitor parking for the lowest submersible bridge on the Shimanto River. Leave your car here and walk towards the river to enjoy the low, railing-free bridge and surrounding hills.

Approach via Route 441

Normally, follow Route 441 from the town and turn left at the Sada Chinkabashi sign. The direct approach along Prefectural Route 340 from the town has motor-vehicle restrictions.

The tourism association’s notice dated October 2, 2026 schedules full closure of Sada Tunnel from October 19 to November 19, followed by alternating one-way traffic from November 19 to December 10. Restrictions are scheduled for 08:30–17:00, with work generally not planned on Saturdays or Sundays. The schedule may change with construction progress.

The association provides a detour with photographs. It includes about 350 m of narrow road; the notice says large coaches can use it, but care is needed when passing oncoming vehicles.

Coach parking

Normally there is room for six buses. During Golden Week and Obon, large-coach parking is limited to two vehicles. Follow attendants’ directions when traffic guidance is in place.

The bridge carries local traffic

Sada Chinkabashi remains a local road. Keep clear of vehicles when walking across and stay away from the unguarded edges while enjoying the view.

Planning the visit

The bridge is about 15 minutes by car from Nakamura Station or one hour and 15 minutes from Shimantocho-chuo IC. It is designed to submerge when river levels rise; follow local access restrictions.
