丸亀城｜石垣を見上げて天守へ歩く城めぐり

丸亀城は、標高約66mの亀山に築かれた平山城です。堀や門から石垣を見上げ、坂を登って天守へ向かう道のりも城めぐりの楽しみになります。

Marugame Castle stands on Kameyama, a hill about 66 metres high. The walk from the moat and gates past the stone walls to the keep is part of the visit.

石垣と城内の散策

本丸・二の丸・三の丸などが亀山を囲むように配置されています。大手門から天守までは徒歩片道約20分。坂を登る時間を見込み、歩きやすい靴で訪れます。

石垣復旧整備の全体工期は、2031年3月末までの予定です。

天守と大手一の門

天守に定期休館日はありません。現金のほかカード、交通系IC、QRコード決済に対応しています。大手一の門の内部は9～16時30分、無料で見学できます。

天守1階西壁前面には、剥落対策の保護パネルを当面設置する案内があります。天守への入場は通常どおりですが、西壁付近は近づかない区域です。天守や大手一の門は、警報発令時や点検・工事・イベント開催時などに臨時休館する場合があります。

駅からのアクセスと荷物

JR丸亀駅南口から城へ徒歩約15分。城内観光案内所の東側には小型300円・大型500円のコインロッカーがあります。城内は全面禁煙です。からめて林と城内北東のトイレにはベビーシートとベビーキープがあり、からめて林には子ども用トイレもあります。

車で訪れるとき

大手町第一・大手町西・駅前地下駐車場は、資料館・天守・城内観光案内所のいずれかで駐車券を認証すると2時間無料になります。券を持って散策します。

Stone walls and the grounds

The main, second and third enclosures occupy the hill. Allow about 20 minutes each way between Ote Gate and the keep, including the uphill walk; comfortable walking shoes are useful.

The overall stone-wall restoration project is scheduled to continue through the end of March 2031.

The keep and Ote Ichino-mon Gate

The keep has no regular closing day and accepts cash, cards, transport IC cards and QR payments. The interior of Ote Ichino-mon Gate is free to visit from 09:00 to 16:30.

Protective panels are announced in front of the keep’s first-floor west wall until further notice to guard against falling plaster. Entry to the keep continues as normal, while visitors are asked to keep away from the west wall. The keep and gate may close temporarily during weather warnings, inspections, works or events.

Station access and luggage

The castle is about 15 minutes on foot from JR Marugame Station’s south exit. Lockers east of the castle tourist information office cost ¥300 for small and ¥500 for large sizes. Smoking is prohibited throughout the grounds. Toilets at Karamete-bayashi and the northeast of the grounds have baby-changing tables and child seats in the toilet cubicles; Karamete-bayashi also has a children’s toilet.

Arriving by car

At Otemachi Daiichi, Otemachi Nishi and the station underground car park, validate the parking ticket at the museum, keep or castle tourist information office for two hours of free parking. Take the ticket with you.
