The Murakami families and maritime routes
The Murakami families based at Noshima, Kurushima and Innoshima provided pilotage, maritime protection and transport as well as military power. Displays and films explore the sea around Noshima and the families’ history and everyday culture. Outside are a reconstructed small kohaya boat and a stone thought to have supported a mooring post.

High-school pupils and younger or visitors under eighteen enter free, as do eligible disability-certificate holders and one attendant. Groups of twenty or more pay ¥250 adults or ¥130 students. The library, second-floor experience room and third-floor viewing room and deck are free spaces; temporary-exhibition fees are set separately.

Reaching Miyakubo and planning the visit
The museum is at 1285 Miyakubo, Miyakubo-cho. Hours are 09:00–17:00 with entry by 16:30. It closes Mondays, normally the next day when Monday is a holiday, and December 29–January 3. The Oshima interchanges have directional access: use Oshima-Kita when arriving from Honshu, or Oshima-Minami from Shikoku. Driving takes about five minutes from the north interchange or fifteen from the south. Free parking accommodates fifty cars and three coaches, and the museum provides barrier-free access.
Other stops to combine within Imabari
Imabari extends from its mainland centre across islands including Oshima, Hakatajima and Omishima. These suggestions include other parts of the city, so allow bridge or boat travel between islands. Oshima-minami Interchange serves arrivals from Shikoku and Oshima-kita those from Honshu. For ferry-served Ushima or car-restricted Umashima, coordinate sailings or reserved transfers with accommodation arrival times.
