中津万象園・丸亀美術館｜池を巡る大名庭園と2026年秋の企画展

中津万象園・丸亀美術館は、丸亀藩京極家の庭園と絵画・陶器の鑑賞を組み合わせられる文化施設です。八景池の島々と橋、大きく傘を広げた松を巡る庭園散策に、2026年秋は企画展「彩 日本画の四季とこころ」を加えられます。会期は9月19日から12月20日までで、通常券と会期中のセット料金が異なります。

Nakatsu Banshoen and Marugame Art Museum combine the Kyogoku clan’s garden with painting and ceramics displays. A walk around Hakkei Pond’s islands, bridges and spreading umbrella-shaped pine can be paired in autumn 2026 with the exhibition “Colours: The Seasons and Spirit of Nihonga.” The exhibition runs from September 19 to December 20, with a combined ticket differing from the regular price.

1．京極家の庭園を池に沿って歩く

中津万象園は、丸亀藩京極家二代藩主・京極高豊により1688年に築かれた庭園です。約1万5千坪の園内では、京極家ゆかりの近江・琵琶湖をかたどった八景池に八つの島を配し、橋で結んでいます。

朱色の邀月橋、大きく枝を張る大傘松、茶室の観潮楼、稲荷社へ続く鳥居回廊が散策の見どころです。大傘松の枝葉は直径約15メートルに広がり、池や松を眺めながら園路を巡れます。

2．2026年秋の日本画とロビー展示

第一展示室では、2026年9月19日～12月20日に「彩 日本画の四季とこころ ― 富士・花・風景・人・こころ ―」を開催しています。片岡球子、小松均、堂本元次、中尾淳ら十人の日本画家の作品で、富士や花、風景などを紹介する企画です。

ロビーの特別展示「夢から明日へ ― 猪熊弦一郎と川島猛 ―」では両作家の作品を展示。第二展示室では「中津万象園の昔と今、そしてこれから」を継続しています。特別展開催中は通常のバルビゾン派作品の展示はありません。

3．庭園券・絵画館券・会期中セットの料金

庭園券は陶器館を含み、大人800円・小中学生400円です。2026年秋季企画展の絵画館特別観覧料は大人500円・小中学生200円、庭園と美術館のセット券は大人1,100円・小中学生600円。通常のセット券は大人1,300円・小中学生600円で、会期中の大人料金とは異なります。

料金案内の金額は税込で、支払いは現金のみです。陶器館では、現在のイラン・イラクを中心に出土した土器、陶器、ガラス器などを紹介しており、庭園券で散策とあわせて見学できます。

4．開園時間と水曜日・12月の扱い

2026年11月30日までは9時30分～17時、最終受付16時30分です。秋季企画展の12月1～20日は9時30分～16時30分で、入園・入館の受付は16時までになります。

定休日は水曜日です。水曜日が祝日の場合は通常営業し、翌日などへの振替休園はありません。丸亀うちわミュージアムは別の開館規則で運営されており、庭園の祝日営業日がそのまま適用されるわけではありません。

5．市民割引と丸亀城との共通券

丸亀市民は住所を証明する書類の提示により、庭園入園料が本人分のみ半額になります。絵画館は対象外で、他の割引との併用はできません。障害者手帳所持者の庭園料金は大人500円・小中学生150円で、受付で手帳またはミライロIDを提示します。婚礼・成人式の前後撮りやコスプレ撮影では、市民割引などの割引は対象外です。

高校生以上向けの丸亀城天守・中津万象園共通券は税込900円、現金販売です。対象は天守と庭園・陶器館で、絵画館は含みません。両施設の窓口で販売し、受付印の日付から1年間有効、1名が各施設1回利用できます。券の各部分を切り離すと無効になります。

6．鉄道・車での行き方と連絡方法

JR讃岐塩屋駅から徒歩約15分。車では善通寺ICから約10分が目安です。無料駐車場は乗用車100台、バス30台分が案内されています。隣接する丸亀うちわミュージアムの無料入館と、庭園の有料入園は別の扱いです。

1. A walk around the Kyogoku garden

Nakatsu Banshoen was established in 1688 by Kyogoku Takatoyo, the second Kyogoku lord of Marugame. In the roughly 15,000-tsubo grounds, eight islands linked by bridges sit in Hakkei Pond, modelled on Lake Biwa in the clan’s ancestral Omi region.

Highlights include the vermilion Yogetsubashi bridge, the spreading Okasamatsu pine, the Kancho-ro tea pavilion and the torii corridor leading to the Inari shrine. The pine’s canopy spans about 15 metres, with paths providing changing views of the pond and trees.

2. Autumn 2026 paintings and lobby display

Gallery 1 presents “Colours: The Seasons and Spirit of Nihonga” from September 19 to December 20, 2026. Works by ten Japanese-style painters, including Tamako Kataoka, Hitoshi Komatsu, Mototsugu Domoto and Jun Nakao, explore Mount Fuji, flowers, landscapes and other themes.

A special lobby display, “From Dreams to Tomorrow,” features work by Genichiro Inokuma and Takeshi Kawashima. Gallery 2 continues the exhibition on Nakatsu Banshoen’s past, present and future. The regular Barbizon-school paintings are not on display during special exhibitions.

3. Garden, gallery and exhibition-combination tickets

The garden ticket includes the ceramics museum and costs ¥800 for adults or ¥400 for elementary and junior-high students. Admission to the autumn 2026 painting exhibition is ¥500 or ¥200, and the garden-and-museum combination costs ¥1,100 or ¥600. The regular combination costs ¥1,300 for adults or ¥600 for students, differing from the adult exhibition-period price.

Prices in the admission guide include tax, and payment is cash only. The ceramics museum displays earthenware, ceramics and glass found mainly in present-day Iran and Iraq, and is included in the garden ticket.

4. Opening hours, Wednesdays and December

Through November 30, 2026, hours are 09:30–17:00, with last admission at 16:30. During December 1–20 of the autumn exhibition, hours are 09:30–16:30 and admission ends at 16:00 for both the garden and museum.

The regular closing day is Wednesday. When Wednesday is a public holiday, the garden opens without a substitute closing day. Marugame Uchiwa Museum follows its own opening rules; the garden’s holiday arrangements do not automatically apply to that separate museum.

5. Resident discounts and the Marugame Castle ticket

Marugame residents receive half-price garden admission for the person presenting proof of residence. The painting gallery is excluded, and discounts cannot be combined. Garden admission for disability-certificate holders is ¥500 for adults or ¥150 for elementary and junior-high students, on presentation of the certificate or Mirairo ID. Resident and other discounts do not apply to wedding, coming-of-age or cosplay photography visits.

A tax-included ¥900 combination ticket for high-school-age visitors and older covers Marugame Castle’s keep plus the garden and ceramics museum, excluding the painting gallery. Sold for cash at both facilities, it is valid for one year from the stamped date and permits one visit to each facility by one person. Separating its ticket sections invalidates it.

6. Arrival by train or car and contact arrangements

Allow about 15 minutes on foot from JR Sanuki-Shioya Station, or about 10 minutes by car from Zentsuji Interchange. Free parking is listed for 100 cars and 30 buses. Free entry to the neighbouring Marugame Uchiwa Museum is separate from paid garden admission.
