Taste handmade soba with Meiji-era roots
Founded in 1898, Ebisu serves noodles handmade daily, using a buckwheat-flour proportion of around seventy to seventy-five percent with its established dipping sauce. Adding a seated meal to a walk past townhouse façades connects the architecture with food culture. Choose the portion and temperature around the day’s walking, with time to enjoy the texture of freshly made noodles.
Noodles, tempura and buckwheat sweets
Tempura zaru soba costs ¥2,050 and yam soba ¥1,420. The Meiji set combines Hida beef with prawn and vegetable tempura at ¥3,280. Buckwheat pudding costs ¥500; all include tax. Choose a noodle-focused meal or add tempura and a sweet finish. Seasonal ingredients provide other combinations, allowing the noodle’s aroma to be considered alongside different textures.
Courtyard seating, tables and stairs
There are tatami and table seats, some overlooking the courtyard. First-floor tables are prioritised for visitors with mobility difficulties, while upstairs seating involves steep stairs. English menus are available. When travelling with someone for whom floor seating or stairs are difficult, a ground-floor arrangement offers a more suitable way to enjoy both the food and garden.
Lunch in Kaminiinomachi and a walking route
The shop is at 46 Kaminiinomachi, allowing around fifteen minutes on foot from the station. Lunch operates 11:00–15:00, last orders 14:30, closed Tuesdays. There is no on-site car park; combine nearby paid parking with a town walk. Cards, electronic money and QR payments are accepted, and all seats are nonsmoking. Link morning sightseeing with lunch, then continue on foot to nearby galleries or cafés.
