Facing Kanmon Strait and its passing ships, this Japanese restaurant serves local fugu and live squid. Private rooms support small meals, celebrations and gatherings, with arrangements shaped by seasonal ingredients and reservations.

Dining with a view of the strait
At 1-1 Mimosusogawa-cho beside Kanmon Bridge, private rooms overlook the strait. Meals can suit lunch, business gatherings, family meetings and celebrations. Seasonal local ingredients form courses selected by party size and budget. It offers a seated dining stop to combine with a waterfront walk and views across the channel.
Choosing fugu and live-squid courses
Tax-inclusive choices include the ¥12,000 fugu course, ¥9,000 squid course and ¥18,000 Mankan Zenseki combining both. Mankan Zenseki requires at least two people and booking two business days ahead. If swordtip squid is unavailable, mainly during October–March, seasonal local fish is substituted. Squid is kept in seawater tanks and prepared as live sashimi to order. Other kaiseki dishes reflect seasonal ingredients, with availability changing by supply. Selecting the preferred food when reserving helps coordinate both the meal and the room.
Early last orders and reservation-led service
Lunch last orders are at 13:30 before the 15:00 close; dinner last orders are 19:30, or 19:00 for courses, before the 21:00 close. Service may finish earlier according to staffing and reservations, and some weekends or holidays admit reserved diners only. Tuesday closures move to the following day after a holiday, with December 31 and January 1 closed and additional days such as occasional Wednesdays. Arrange the meal by its start time and booking rather than the closing hour alone.
Planning parking with a private-room booking
Parking is limited, and larger parties are encouraged to share vehicles. The basement is narrow and suited to small cars; reserved diners may receive priority when busy. Coordinate the vehicle size and meal time when arriving after sightseeing. For a private-room celebration or gathering, arrange party size, course and meal start together so the dining space and food fit the occasion.
Other stops to combine within Shimonoseki
Shimonoseki extends from the station and Karato waterfront to Chofu, Kawatana, Kikugawa, Toyota and Hohoku. Allow travel time between districts and coordinate restaurant opening, accommodation arrival deadlines and attraction closures. Choose parking according to the district visited and each facility’s conditions.
