海軍さんの料亭五月荘は、本通で海軍ゆかりの料理と季節の和食を味わえる料亭です。鯛の釜めしや肉じゃがを盛り込む御膳、会席料理、呉の地酒などがあり、町歩きの昼食から家族の会食まで組み立てられます。全席個室で、料理と一緒に店に残る歴史資料にも触れられます。

1901年創業の料亭の歩み

五月荘は1901年創業で、旧海軍の人々に利用されてきた歴史を持ちます。戦時の呉軍港空襲で全焼した後、営業を再開しました。店内には日露海戦の海図、軍艦陸奥の図、旧海軍関係者の書などを所蔵しています。港の博物館と合わせ、まちに受け継がれる料理店の資料と食事を楽しめます。

鯛釜めしと海軍ゆかりの御膳

彩月御膳2,750円は鯛釜めし、刺身、肉じゃが、天ぷらなどを組み合わせます。海軍御膳3,300円には鯨カツや鯛のけんちん蒸しなどが入ります。穴子重2,530円や和牛御膳4,180円などもあり、価格は税込。お子様御膳1,100円は小学生以下限定です。料理は季節の食材を使うため、会席と御膳を目的に合わせて選べます。

個室の会席は事前に予約する

全席個室で、昼の会食や子ども連れの食事にも対応します。会席料理は税込8,800円・11,000円のほか、5,500円・6,600円のプランもあり、コース利用は事前予約制です。飲み放題は4名からで予約内容により料金が変わります。呉の地酒を扱い、千福、雨後の月、宝剣などを料理と合わせて選べます。

本通の昼営業と夕食の時間

本通2-4-10、呉駅から徒歩14分です。昼は11時30分～14時30分・LO14時、夜は17時30分～21時30分・LO20時30分で、火曜休。全館禁煙で屋外に喫煙場所があります。カードやPayPay・楽天ペイ・au PAYに対応し、家族の食事と会席の会食で同じ店を使い分けられます。市街地を歩く行程なら入船山方面の見学と合わせられます。

Satsukiso in Hondori combines naval-associated dishes with seasonal Japanese cooking. Sea-bream rice, nikujaga sets, kaiseki and local sake suit a sightseeing lunch or family meal. Private rooms and historical material retained by the restaurant add context to the food.

A restaurant founded in 1901

Founded in 1901, Satsukiso has a history of serving naval customers. It resumed business after destruction in wartime raids on Kure. Holdings include a Russo-Japanese naval battle chart, a print of Mutsu and calligraphy associated with former naval officials. A meal can complement the harbour museums with material preserved by a long-established local restaurant.

Sea-bream rice and naval-inspired sets

The ¥2,750 Satsuki set combines sea-bream pot rice, sashimi, nikujaga and tempura. The ¥3,300 naval set includes whale cutlet and kenchin-style steamed sea bream. Options also include conger-eel rice ¥2,530 and Japanese-beef set ¥4,180, tax included. The ¥1,100 children’s set is for primary-school age and younger. Seasonal ingredients shape the meal choices.

Advance bookings for private-room kaiseki

All seating is in private rooms, including for lunch and families. Kaiseki is offered at ¥8,800 or ¥11,000, with ¥5,500 and ¥6,600 plans also available; courses require advance reservation. All-you-can-drink arrangements start from four people, with prices depending on the booking. Local sake choices include Senpuku, Ugo no Tsuki and Hoken.

Lunch and evening hours in Hondori

At 2-4-10 Hondori, fourteen minutes from Kure Station, lunch runs 11:30–14:30 with last orders 14:00 and dinner 17:30–21:30 with last orders 20:30. Closed Tuesdays. The building is non-smoking with an outdoor smoking area. Cards, PayPay, Rakuten Pay and au PAY are accepted. The central location can be combined with an Irifuneyama visit.
