Eighty ordinary-car spaces at the station
At 2261 Takaomachi, the municipal lot stands by Keio Takaosanguchi. Its eighty spaces include one disability bay and two kei-only bays. Including loads, cars must not exceed 5 m in length,2 m in width and 2.3 m in height. Motorcycles, mopeds, bicycles, electric cars, buggies and trikes are excluded. Spring foliage, autumn colours and New Year bring busy periods; plan an early arrival or rail alternative.
Daytime half-hour rates and the first twelve hours
Ordinary cars pay ¥200 per 30 minutes from 8:00–17:00 or per hour from 17:00–8:00. For the first twelve hours, the cap is ¥800 if departure falls on a weekday outside May/November, or ¥2,000 for weekends, holidays and every day in May/November. Beyond twelve hours, normal time charges are added to that cap; it does not repeat. Use the departure-day category for an overnight stay.
Three-hour certificate exemption and payment
Eligible ordinary-car users with a disability, Ai-no-Techo or mental-health disability certificate receive up to three free hours. Before inserting the parking ticket, use the payment-machine intercom; a 24-hour operator checks the certificate by camera. On-site staff can assist 8:00–17:00. Credit cards and transit e-money are also accepted; cashless payments cannot be refunded.
Buses use a separate reserved underpass lot
Large and medium vehicles use a separate reserved lot under the Takaosan IC viaduct at 2688 Minamiasakawamachi, not the ordinary-car station lot. That facility has up to four spaces, access 8:00–17:00 and costs ¥3,500 per 24 hours. Bus passengers may alight at the station rotary before the bus moves there. Ordinary-car stays cannot exceed one continuous week; coordinate parking duration with any overnight accommodation.
Other stops to combine within Hachioji
Around Takaosanguchi, walk between foot-of-mountain exhibits and soba shops; Gongen Chaya needs a cable-car journey and further mountain walking. Coordinate luggage drop, mountain meals, the parking tariff and return time for a full hike or a shorter lower-area walk. Accommodation at the foot and daytime mountain teahouses have different service hours.
