足羽山公園遊園地は、足羽山の緑に囲まれた無料の動物園です。屋外の動物飼育舎やアスレチック遊具に加え、屋内のハピジャンでは動物と同じ空間を歩けます。散策と動物観察を一緒に楽しめる一方、冬は屋外と屋内で休園期間が違うため、訪れる場所に合わせて予定を立てられます。

山の動物展示と屋内ハピジャン
園内ではポニーやニホンザル、オウム・インコ類、ケヅメリクガメなどを展示し、自然の傾斜を生かした遊び場にはアスレチック遊具10基があります。屋内展示施設ハピジャンは、動物が過ごす空間を共有しながら観察できる施設です。動物の体調によって展示や体験の実施が変わる場合があり、園内では柵を越えたり持参した食べ物を与えたりせず観察します。
無料入園と一回百円のエサやり
入園は無料、実施中のエサやり体験は1回100円です。対象はハピジャンのカピバラ、もぐもぐひろばのウサギ・モルモット、ニホンザルなど。屋外の冬期休園中は、ニホンザルやモルモットのエサやりを実施しません。団体見学は電話で予約し、平日に受付。雨天時に昼食場所を使う場合も、10名以下の予約制という条件があります。
工事による入口変更と秋の無料バス
管理棟更新工事により2026年9月末から駐車場の一部を制限し、遊園地入口も変更しています。10月10日～11月23日の土日祝は、足羽1丁目7-35の給水管理事務所駐車場から無料シャトルを運行します。約30分間隔、始発9時20分、遊園地発の最終16時35分。発着駐車場は運行日の9時10分～17時だけ開き、時間外は閉門します。
坂道の到着と屋内外で違う冬休み
開園9時30分～16時30分。月曜が休日なら翌平日が休園です。屋外は12月29日～2月末、ハピジャンは12月29日～1月3日が冬の休園期間で、通常の週休日も適用されます。福井駅から車約10分、福井ICから約20分。足羽山公園口駅からは約2.1km、徒歩25分ほどの坂道です。通常案内の無料駐車場79台は、工事中は全区画を使える状態ではありません。

Asuwayama Park Zoo is a free animal park amid the wooded slopes of Mount Asuwa. Outdoor enclosures and athletic play equipment are joined by Happy Jungle, an indoor space shared with animals. Walking and animal observation fit into the same visit. The indoor and outdoor areas have different winter closures, so choose dates according to the part you want to explore.

Outdoor animals and indoor Happy Jungle
Displays include ponies, Japanese macaques, parrots and tortoises, with ten athletic play structures using the natural slope. Indoor Happy Jungle allows observation in a space shared with its animals. Displays and activities can change with animal health. Observe from the designated areas and use only the food supplied for organised feeding experiences.
Free admission and ¥100 feeding experiences
Admission is free; available feeding sessions cost ¥100 each. Listed animals include capybaras in Happy Jungle, rabbits and guinea pigs in Mogumogu Hiroba, and Japanese macaques. Outdoor winter closure suspends the macaque and guinea-pig sessions. Group visits require telephone booking, handled on weekdays. The rainy-day lunch space also requires a reservation and is limited to groups of ten or fewer.
Construction and the free autumn shuttle
Management-building works restrict part of the parking area and change the zoo entrance from late September 2026. On weekends and holidays October 10–November 23, a free shuttle runs from the water-supply office car park at 1-7-35 Asuwa. Services run approximately every thirty minutes, beginning at 09:20; the last departure from the zoo is 16:35. The departure car park opens only 09:10–17:00 on shuttle days and is locked outside those hours.
Hill access and the two winter schedules
Hours are 09:30–16:30. A Monday public holiday moves the weekly closure to the next weekday. Outdoors close December 29–the end of February; Happy Jungle closes December 29–January 3, with regular weekly closures still applying. Driving takes about ten minutes from Fukui Station or twenty from Fukui Interchange. From Asuwayama-Koenguchi Station, allow about twenty-five minutes for the roughly 2.1-kilometre uphill walk. The normally advertised 79 free parking spaces are partly unavailable during construction.
