1963年開業のホテルで、浦辺鎮太郎による建築は1964年度の日本建築学会賞を受けています。ロビーを飾る棟方志功の「大世界の柵・坤―人類より神々へ―」は幅12.84m、高さ1.75m。大きな画面を館内の空間と一緒に鑑賞できます。到着して荷物を整える時間にも、倉敷と結び付いた建築や美術に触れられます。
本館と別館で客室の広さを選ぶ
本館には18.8㎡のダブル、21.8㎡のスタンダードツイン、34.3㎡のデラックスツインなどがあり、本館の客室フロアは全室禁煙です。別館にも24.4㎡のツインや26.6㎡のトリプルを備えます。通常のチェックインは15時、アウト11時。二人で泊まる部屋と三人で使う部屋、広さを重視する部屋を分けて選べます。

Woodcut and architecture in the lobby
Opened in 1963, the Chintaro Urabe building received the Architectural Institute of Japan award for fiscal 1964. The lobby’s Shiko Munakata woodcut, Daiseikai no Saku, Kon, measures 12.84 metres wide by 1.75 high. View the work within its architectural setting as part of arriving and settling into Kurashiki.
