綿屋は1876年に料理店として創業し、本館と洋館は2014年に国の登録有形文化財となりました。日本庭園に向く部屋や、町田川越しに唐津城を望む部屋があります。窓からの眺めと、部屋に残る和のしつらえを楽しみ、市街地の観光に宿で過ごす時間を加えられます。
客室の違いと車いすでの移動
「浦島」は8畳、1～3人の温泉露天風呂付き客室。「山鯱」は15畳の角部屋で、城と町を望みます。車いす対応客室へは駐車場からスロープが続き、室内トイレも対応しますが、客室風呂は車いす利用ができません。近くの浴場で介助用椅子を使う場合も同行者の介助が必要で、館内にエレベーターはありません。
かぐや姫の湯と貸切風呂
温泉はナトリウム－塩化物・硫酸塩泉の「かぐや姫の湯」。露天風呂は男女交代で、宿泊者は露天7～22時、内湯7～23時の案内です。貸切専用風呂「唐船」は温泉水ではなく、宿泊者が対象の部屋タイプで予約して使う設備です。貸切風呂の料金は40分2,000円で、大浴場や客室の温泉と区別して選べます。
宿泊の受付と市街地へのアクセス
チェックイン15時、最終22時、チェックアウト翌10時です。料金は客室、人数、料理付きかどうかと宿泊日によって異なります。予定時刻より遅くなる場合は到着を連絡する条件です。唐津駅から徒歩約15分、駐車場は敷地内20台。階段を使う部屋かどうかと食事の内容を予約時に決め、城や旧市街を歩く行程へつなげられます。
唐津市内で組み合わせる訪問先
唐津市街では、旧高取邸や中町の店を町歩きに組み合わせられます。宿の食事時刻、飲食の定休日と夕方の予約条件、駐車場の昼夜の料金区分を合わせて訪問先を選べます。呼子・鎮西や浜玉・七山、相知・厳木へ足を延ばす日は、市街地の徒歩移動とは別に車やバスの移動時間を取れます。
The garden and heritage buildings
Founded as a restaurant in 1876, Wataya’s main and Western buildings were registered as tangible cultural properties in 2014. Rooms face the Japanese garden or look towards Karatsu Castle across the Machida River. Their traditional fittings and outlook add time within the inn to a town itinerary.
Room differences and wheelchair access
Urashima is an eight-tatami room for one to three guests with a private outdoor hot spring. Yamashachi is a fifteen-tatami corner room with castle and town views. A ramp connects parking to the accessible room and its adapted toilet, but the room bath is not wheelchair accessible. Nearby baths have an assistance chair and require a companion’s help; the inn has no lift.
Kaguya-hime hot spring and the private bath
Kaguya-hime no Yu is a sodium chloride/sulfate hot spring. The outdoor bath alternates between men and women; advertised guest hours are 7:00–22:00 outdoors and 7:00–23:00 indoors. The private Tosen bath uses non-hot-spring water and is reserved through the relevant guest-room type. Its stated charge is ¥2,000 for forty minutes.
Reception and central-town access
Check-in begins at 15:00, ends at 22:00, and check-out is at 10:00. Prices vary by room, occupancy, meals and date. Notify the inn if arrival will be later than planned. Walk about fifteen minutes from Karatsu Station; on-site parking has twenty spaces. Match the room’s stair access and meal plan to the town visit.
Other stops to combine within Karatsu
In central Karatsu, combine the Former Takatori Residence with Nakamachi shops on foot. Coordinate hotel meals, restaurant closing days and evening booking requirements with daytime and nighttime parking tariffs. Trips to Yobuko/Chinzei, Hamatama/Nanayama or Ouchi/Kyuragi need additional driving or bus time beyond central walks.
