無料の休憩用駐車と優先スペース
普通車66台、身障者用の優先駐車スペース2台が案内されています。駐車場とトイレは24時間無料で、店舗が閉まっている時間帯も運転の休憩に利用できます。身障者用トイレがあり、館内利用のための車椅子を2台備えています。一般の車は優先区画を空け、乗降に広さが必要な利用者の動線を確保できます。休憩施設として使う駐車場なので、荷物を整えたりトイレに寄ったりする立ち寄りも組み合わせられます。
9～17時の物産館と水曜の休館
物産館は9～17時で、泉町の茶や柚子胡椒、農産物などの特産品を選べます。施設は水曜定休ですが、祝祭日の水曜は営業し、年末年始は別の休みを設けます。店舗内の観光案内や売店を使う日は、17時までに滞在を組めます。駐車場とトイレの24時間利用に対し、買い物や館内設備には営業時間があります。食事を取る場合のレストラン営業は11時からで、朝の休憩とは使い方が変わります。
地域交流施設から道の駅へ
1997年に開いたふれあいセンターいずみが、2024年4月に道の駅秘境の郷いずみとして営業を始めた施設です。木のデッキ、白い屋根や茶色の外壁を配した建物で、地域の産物を手に取る場所にもなっています。Wi-Fiを利用でき、ドライブの休憩中に次の目的地を整理できます。泉町の山間へ向かう場合は、食事や買い物をここでまとめる予定と、途中で短く休む予定を使い分けられます。
国道443号とインターチェンジからの移動
所在地は泉町下岳3296-1、国道443号沿いで、美里町の日本一の石段と氷川ダムの中間に位置します。宇城氷川スマートIC、八代IC、松橋ICの各ICから車で40～50分、熊本市中心部から約50分、熊本空港から約60分が目安です。五家荘の山中にある宿や見学施設とは別の立ち寄り地点で、泉町内でもその先に移動時間があります。出発前に休憩や買い物を済ませ、日中の移動時間に余裕を持たせられます。

市街地、日奈久、東陽や泉の移動時間を考えながら、食事・見学・宿泊の予定を組み合わせられます。
Parking at Hikyo no Sato Izumi provides a free rest and shopping stop on Route 443 through Izumimachi. The community facility originally opened as Fureai Center Izumi and began operating as a roadside station in April 2024. Free rest parking and priority spaces
The operator lists sixty-six ordinary-car spaces and two priority spaces for disabled users. Parking and toilets are free twenty-four hours, allowing a driving break while the shops are closed. An accessible toilet and two wheelchairs for facility use are provided. Keep priority bays available for people needing room to board or leave a vehicle. As rest-stop parking, the facility can also serve a short break to use the toilet or organise luggage.
The 09:00–17:00 shop and Wednesday closure
The shop opens 09:00–17:00 with local products such as Izumi tea, yuzu pepper and farm produce. The building closes Wednesdays but opens when Wednesday is a public holiday; separate year-end/New Year closures apply. Plan use of the shop and indoor tourist information before 17:00. Twenty-four-hour parking and toilets do not extend the shops’ opening hours. Restaurant service starts at 11:00, later than an early-morning rest stop.
From community centre to roadside station
Fureai Center Izumi opened in 1997 and began operating as Hikyo no Sato Izumi roadside station in April 2024. The building combines wooden decking, white roofs and brown walls, and provides a place to browse regional products. Wi-Fi helps with arranging the next stage of a drive during a break. When continuing into the Izumi mountain area, choose between combining food and purchases here or making only a short rest stop.
Route 443 and motorway approaches
The address is 3296-1 Shimodake, Izumimachi, on Route 443 between Misato’s Japan’s Longest Stone Steps and Hikawa Dam. Approximate drives are forty to fifty minutes from Uki-Hikawa Smart, Yatsushiro or Matsubase interchange, fifty minutes from central Kumamoto and sixty minutes from Kumamoto Airport. This is a separate stop from the lodging and visitor sites deeper in Gokanosho, which require further travel even within Izumimachi. Complete a break or purchases before continuing with sufficient daylight time.
