城山公園南駐車場は、城山の南側から城跡を歩く人が使える無料駐車場です。延岡城・内藤記念博物館の周辺駐車案内にも載り、城の歴史を屋外と展示の両方でたどる行程に組み込めます。開場は9時、閉場は22時で、夜間は車を出せません。

南側の駐車場から史跡へ
市が城山公園来園者に案内する南側の駐車場です。北側の駐車場とは別の場所にあり、開場時刻も南9時・北7時と異なります。車を停めてから城内を歩き、二の丸の石垣や本丸、天守台跡へと巡る組み立てができます。城下の歴史をさらに知りたい場合は、南側周辺の延岡城・内藤記念博物館を一緒に訪ねられます。
閉場と翌朝の出庫時刻
駐車は無料で、9～22時に利用できます。22時を過ぎるとチェーンなどで施錠され、翌朝9時の開場まで出庫できません。朝早く次の目的地へ向かう予定がある場合は、この時刻が出発の制約になります。博物館や食事まで続けて回る日は、最後の施設から車へ戻る徒歩時間も含め、閉場前に出庫する余裕を取ります。
車椅子と子ども連れの設備
舗装された南駐車場には障がい者用区画2台分があります。男女共用の多目的トイレは引き戸で、緊急通報装置、荷物置き、ベビーチェアを備えます。城内「千人殺しの石垣」前の障がい者等用駐車2台分を利用する場合は、事前許可を受け南側から車で進入します。花見や薪能などの催しでは車両進入が制限される場合があります。
坂道を含めて城と展示を巡る
城内の車椅子経路は階段を避けても一部に急坂があり、介助が必要です。天守台跡の手前では特に勾配がきつくなるため、石垣や広場を中心にするなど、同行者の歩ける範囲で巡れます。公園は延岡駅・延岡ICから車で各約8分。博物館の展示を見る日はその開館時間、駐車場へ戻る日は22時の閉場を基準に組み合わせます。

Approach the historic grounds from the south
This is the city-designated southern visitor lot for Shiroyama Park. It is separate from the northern lot and opens two hours later, at 09:00 rather than 07:00. Leave the car and walk among the second enclosure’s walls, the main enclosure and former tower platform. The nearby Naito Memorial Museum can add indoor context to the same exploration of castle-town history.
Closing and the next morning’s exit time
Parking is free during 09:00–22:00. After 22:00 chains or other locks prevent exit until the 09:00 reopening, which matters when planning an early onward departure. If the visit continues to the museum or a meal, include the final walk back to the car and leave before the gate closes. The parking lot’s evening hours do not extend the opening hours of indoor attractions.
Facilities for wheelchair users and families
The paved southern lot has two accessible spaces. Its unisex multipurpose toilet has a sliding door, emergency call system, luggage shelf and baby chair. To use the two accessible spaces within the grounds near the Sennin-goroshi wall, obtain permission in advance and enter from the south. Vehicle access farther into the park can be restricted during busy events such as cherry-blossom viewing or outdoor Noh.
Allow for slopes and museum time
Wheelchair routes can avoid stairs yet still encounter steep slopes requiring assistance, particularly towards the former tower platform. A shorter visit focused on the walls and lower open areas may suit the group better. The park is roughly eight minutes by car from Nobeoka Station or Nobeoka IC. For a combined museum visit, fit its separate indoor opening times around the parking lot’s 22:00 closure.
