天守の移動と内部休館
石垣修理のため2015年に本丸中央側へ移された天守を、2026年に元の本丸南東隅の天守台へ戻す工事が進められています。天守内部は2025年11月24日から数年間の公開休止中で、外観を見学できる位置も工事の進捗に伴い変わります。
本丸・北の郭の入園料
本丸・北の郭の通常有料期間は4月1日～11月23日、9～17時。高校生以上320円、小中学生100円です。本丸・北の郭、弘前城植物園、藤田記念庭園の共通1日券は520円・160円。11月24日～3月31日は本丸・北の郭の入園無料です。65歳以上の市民等には証明書を伴う無料区分があり、さくらまつり期間は除外されます。
城跡散策と秋の催し
濠や門を巡り、弘前城情報館で津軽氏の城と保存の歴史に触れられます。2026年の弘前城菊と紅葉まつりは10月30日～11月8日、主会場は弘前城植物園です。秋のライトアップは10月30日～11月中旬、16～21時を予定しています。
工事による通行制限
本丸南側は一部通行止めで、仮設階段による迂回が必要です。工事は2027年3月31日頃までの予定です。未申櫓の周辺も雪害のため立ち入りが制限されています。
弘前市の観光・宿泊・食事
Keep relocation and interior closure
The keep was moved towards the centre of Honmaru in 2015 for stone-wall repairs. The 2026 works return it to its original platform at the southeast corner. Interior access has been suspended for several years since November 24, 2025, and exterior-viewing positions change as work progresses.
Honmaru/Kita-no-kuruwa admission
The ordinary paid season for Honmaru/Kita-no-kuruwa is April 1–November 23, 09:00–17:00. Admission is ¥320 for high-school students and older and ¥100 for elementary/junior-high pupils. A one-day combination ticket with the botanical garden and Fujita Memorial Garden costs ¥520 / ¥160. Honmaru/Kita-no-kuruwa entry is free November 24–March 31. Exemptions for city residents aged sixty-five or older and other eligible groups require proof and exclude the cherry-blossom festival period.
Castle walks and autumn events
Explore the gates and moats, then learn about the Tsugaru clan’s castle and conservation at Hirosaki Castle Information Center. The 2026 Chrysanthemum and Autumn Foliage Festival is planned for October 30–November 8, mainly in the botanical garden. Autumn illumination is planned from October 30 to mid-November, 16:00–21:00.
Access restrictions during works
Part of the south side of the Honmaru is closed, with a diversion via temporary stairs. Work is scheduled to continue until around March 31, 2027. Access around Hitsujisaru Turret is also restricted due to snow damage.
