Choosing the main building or a detached room
The fifty-one rooms include the main building, Hanatsubaki and Garyubai detached accommodation, special rooms and a penthouse with a view bath. All are non-smoking with Wi-Fi and refrigerators. Choose a spring-bath category when private bathing is central to the stay, since facilities differ by room. Standard arrival is 15:00 and departure 10:00. Garyubai includes accessible accommodation, with wheelchairs and shower chairs available to borrow.
Communal bathing and private spring rooms
Santoka has indoor and outdoor baths, a cold pool and sauna. Day bathing runs 8:00–23:00, last reception 22:00, at ¥950 per adult hour on weekdays, ¥1,150 weekends and holidays or ¥1,450 on special dates; admission starts at 11:00 after a closing day. Gotenyu private spring rooms require at least two people. Ordinary guest rates for fifty minutes and two people are ¥2,200 in a standard room or ¥2,750 in a larger one, with special-date rates separate. Advance booking is useful on busy nights.
Conditions for staying with a dog
Book a designated Wan Family room to stay with a dog and check in at the Rukuru dining lounge. A dog diaper or belly band is required there. Dogs can use the designated rooms, Rukuru and the dog run, rather than the main dining venues or ordinary restaurant. Breakfast and dinner are served with the dog in Rukuru, without in-room dining. Rabies and combined-vaccine certificates are required for the advance consent procedure or presentation on arrival.
Two station transfers and free parking
Parking for two hundred vehicles is free. Kawatana Onsen Station is twenty minutes away on foot or five by car, with a guest pickup arranged by notifying arrival time. Reserved Shin-Shimonoseki transfers run 16:00–16:30 outbound and 9:30–10:00 on return, available from one passenger. Drive around twenty minutes from Ozuki IC or thirty from Shimonoseki IC. Rates depend on the room and plan, with ¥150 adult hot-spring tax extra. Coordinate room, meals and transfer bookings when setting the arrival time.
Other stops to combine within Shimonoseki
Shimonoseki extends from the station and Karato waterfront to Chofu, Kawatana, Kikugawa, Toyota and Hohoku. Allow travel time between districts and coordinate restaurant opening, accommodation arrival deadlines and attraction closures. Choose parking according to the district visited and each facility’s conditions.
