1. Port Views and Nighttime Media Art
The observation floors occupy levels 29 and 30, offering daytime views of the port and city and illuminated surroundings at night. The media art gallery on level 30 normally starts at 18:00, or 19:00 in June–August. The works shown and visibility vary with the program and weather.
The second floor has a freely accessible art gallery and a travel library and community lounge, with photography, architecture and history books connected to Yokohama. Stop by before or after the observation floors. Restaurants and shops follow their own hours and closing days.
2. Day and Night Prices and the One-Day Pass
The facility’s published rate table lists day tickets at ¥1,000 on weekdays and ¥1,200 on weekends and public holidays for high school age and above, and ¥500 / ¥600 for elementary and junior high students. Night tickets are ¥1,200 / ¥1,400 and ¥700 / ¥800 respectively. Preschool children enter free. The official sales page shows amounts that differ from the facility table, so check the ticket type and applicable price on the sales screen for your visit. Special dates and events may also have different prices.
Ordinary admission tickets do not allow re-entry. For both daytime and evening visits, the one-day pass allows repeated entry on the same day. The facility’s normal table lists admission-only passes at ¥1,500 for high school age and above and ¥900 for elementary and junior high students; other products include an audio guide. Web purchases are non-refundable.
3. Observation Hours and November 21 Tickets
The tower normally opens at 10:00. Daytime last admission is 17:30; night admission runs 18:00–22:00, with last admission at 21:30. In June–August, daytime last admission is 18:30 and night admission starts at 19:00. Strong winds and other conditions may suspend operations; check the day’s operating notices before visiting.
Sales of observation tickets for November 21, 2026 are temporarily suspended, with sales scheduled to start at 12:00 on October 28. This is a special sales notice for a fireworks date; visitors for that day should consult the dedicated notice and sales screen for available tickets.
4. One-Elevator Operation and Contact
An October 10 notice states that one of the two observation elevators is out of service until further notice for repair surveys and safety work. One remains in operation, with entry limits or waits possible, particularly on weekends. Stairs to the observation floors are unavailable, so allow extra time.
An October 14 notice reports a telephone equipment fault and directs inquiries to info-marinetower@list.co.jp until service is restored. Use this email contact for questions about operations or group visits while the notice remains in effect.
5. Visiting with Children or a Wheelchair
The second-floor baby room supports nursing and diaper changes but has no water dispenser. Babycal stroller rental at the first-floor reception requires separate advance web booking. Ordinary individual visits do not require a reservation, although elevator operation and crowds may cause waits.
Wheelchair users can reach the observation floors, with staff guidance from the entrance to the second-floor observation elevator. Wheelchairs are not available to borrow, and an accessible toilet is on the first floor. Assistance dogs are welcome. Food and drink are not permitted on the observation floors.
6. Access from Motomachi-Chukagai Station
The address is 14-1 Yamashitacho, Naka-ku. The official ticket page gives about 1 minute on foot from Motomachi-Chukagai Station Exit 4 on the Minatomirai Line, or about 15 minutes from Ishikawacho Station North Exit or Kannai Station South Exit. Walking from the station works well with a stroll around Yamashita Park.
The tower has no car or bicycle parking and offers no affiliated discount at nearby car parks. Drivers use surrounding paid parking. On-site ticket payments support cash, credit cards, QR payments and electronic money.
