2017年4月に開いた古民家の宿で、和室3部屋をそれぞれ個室として利用します。団欒室や台所、縁側などを共有し、朝は用意された材料を自分で調理する方式です。旅人同士が同じ家で過ごすため、夜の静けさや設備の使い分けを大切にする宿です。

三つの個室と鍵の違い
客室1は8畳で4名まで、客室2は4畳半で2名まで、離れの客室3は6畳と二段ベッドを備え4名まで利用できます。いずれも相部屋ではなく個室です。客室1と3は外側から施錠できますが、客室2は団欒室と襖を挟んで隣り合い、内側のフックのみで外から鍵は掛けられません。人数だけでなく、共用室との距離や鍵の条件も含めて選べます。古民家を仲間と改修して2017年4月23日に開業した宿で、畳の部屋や縁側を生かした家庭的な空間です。
利用人数別の料金と子ども料金
客室2は1名なら平日3,800円、土曜・祝前日や指定期間4,000円、2名なら1人3,500円です。客室1・3は1名平日4,000円、休前日等4,500円、2名時は1人3,800円・4,000円、3名時3,500円、4名時3,000円となります。指定期間は12月29日～1月3日、4月28日～5月5日、8月11～15日。公式サイトや電話での直接予約では小学生以下800円の子ども料金があり、子どもは大人の人数計算に含めません。料金の調整は予約確定後に連絡する方式です。
自炊の朝食と共用の水回り
洗面・トイレ・浴室は共同で、台所と調理器具、冷蔵庫を使えます。無料の朝食材料は食パン1枚、バナナ1本、卵1個、ヨーグルト、牛乳などで、調理は自分で行います。コーヒー・紅茶・緑茶も無料です。女性と子どもは100円で湯船を利用でき、男性はシャワールームを使います。タオル貸出100円、洗濯機は洗剤付き100円、乾燥機200円。客室での飲食はできず、寝具のシーツ類は受け取り後に自分でセットします。宿泊中の基本的な作業をセルフサービスで行う宿です。
21時までの受付と22時消灯
2026年1月受付分から最終チェックインを21時に変更し、通常の受付は17～21時です。遅れる場合は事前連絡が必要で、無連絡だと泊まれないことがあります。支払いは現金のみ、チェックアウト7～10時で、7時前の出発方法は到着時に案内します。22時消灯でも鍵を受け取るため24時間出入りできます。大和八木駅7分、八木西口駅6分、JR畝傍駅2分の徒歩圏です。裏庭と近隣の計2台の駐車場は予約先着、1台200円。空きがなければ近隣の有料駐車場を利用します。

Three private rooms with different locks
Room One is an eight-tatami space for up to four; Room Two is four-and-a-half tatami for two; detached Room Three combines six tatami and bunks for up to four. All are private, not dormitories. Rooms One and Three lock from outside. Room Two adjoins the communal sitting room through sliding doors and has only an internal hook, without an exterior lock. This distinction matters alongside capacity. The owners and friends renovated the old house before its April 23, 2017 opening, retaining tatami rooms and veranda spaces.
Occupancy prices and children’s rates
Room Two costs ¥3,800 for one on weekdays or ¥4,000 on Saturdays, pre-holidays and designated periods; two sharing pay ¥3,500 each. Rooms One and Three cost ¥4,000 or ¥4,500 for one, ¥3,800 or ¥4,000 each for two, ¥3,500 each for three and ¥3,000 each for four. Designated periods are December 29–January 3, April 28–May 5 and August 11–15. Direct website or telephone bookings have an ¥800 rate for children through primary-school age, excluded from the adult occupancy calculation. The adjusted price is communicated after booking confirmation.
Self-prepared breakfast and shared washing facilities
Washbasins, toilets and bathing facilities are shared; guests can use the kitchen, utensils and refrigerator. Complimentary breakfast ingredients include a slice of bread, banana, egg, yoghurt and milk, prepared by guests themselves. Coffee and teas are free. Women and children may use the bathtub for ¥100; men use the shower room. Towel rental is ¥100, washing with detergent ¥100 and drying ¥200. Food and drinks are not allowed in bedrooms. Guests receive linen and make up their own bedding, following the house’s self-service approach.
Reception by 21:00 and lights out at 22:00
For bookings received from January 2026, final check-in is 21:00; normal reception runs 17:00–21:00. Contact the house beforehand if late, as unannounced late arrivals may be unable to stay. Payment is cash only. Check-out is 7:00–10:00, with earlier-departure arrangements explained on arrival. Although lights out is 22:00, guests receive keys for twenty-four-hour access. Yamato-Yagi is seven minutes away on foot, Yagi-Nishiguchi six and JR Unebi two. Two rear-garden or nearby parking spaces cost ¥200 each and are reserved first come; otherwise use nearby paid parking.
