Hakusen is a Kaike inn known for its tatami lobby and coastal rooms. Autumn 2026, however, falls during exterior and indoor-bath works, restricting the usual sea views and room outdoor baths. Plan around the rooms and baths available during construction, using the operating hot springs and meal arrangements as the basis of the stay.

Views and room restrictions during the works
The planned exterior schedule is scaffolding September 1–15, painting September 16–October 24 and dismantling October 25–November 11. Scaffolding surrounds the building, with screens on room and jacuzzi windows restricting normal views. Workers may enter balconies during painting, and work can produce noise and smells. Japanese or Japanese-Western rooms are assigned on arrival without advance selection. Even when an outdoor-bath room is allocated, its private outdoor bath cannot be used during the works.
Fixed-gender shared bathing and bathing tax
Indoor-bath works are also planned September 1–November 11. During this period, baths are allocated permanently by gender without rotation: women use one side of the Hana/Tsuki indoor baths and men the Kiboden outdoor-bath building. Normal bathing hours are 06:00–09:00 and 15:00–24:00. Room outdoor baths ordinarily use non-onsen water, distinct from the shared hot springs. Day bathing is unavailable. Bathing tax adds ¥150 per person from age twelve. Construction dates may change.
Meals, arrival time and longer-stay cleaning
Standard check-in is 15:00 and checkout 10:00; advise the inn if arriving after 17:00. Dinner and breakfast use dining areas under the booked meal plan. Services can be arranged through mobile ordering after completing the emailed smart-check-in registration. Longer stays use light cleaning with rubbish removal and towel replacement as required; full cleaning is free once every three days. An extra full clean costs ¥4,000 before tax and must be requested by 17:00 the previous day.
Parking and reserved station/airport pickup
The address is 3-12-33 Kaike Onsen. Seventy-two parking spaces are free; covered areas have a 3.5-metre height limit. Transfers require advance telephone booking, first come: station pickup near the south-exit benches is 15:15 or 16:35, with hotel departures at 09:05, 10:05 and 11:05. Airport pickup runs only at 13:45, meeting to the left outside the domestic-arrivals front exit. Passenger-car capacity is limited; there is no hotel-to-airport return service.
