Ohshimaya stands opposite Mitsumine Shrine’s triple torii, reached by stairs from the municipal parking area. Rice bowls, soba and udon offer a meal around a mountain shrine visit. Indoor and terrace seating have specific use conditions, and the restaurant does not provide reserved tables or space simply for meeting other members of a party before eating.

A mountain meal opposite the shrine gate
The present location followed the opening of vehicle access to the mountain in 1967, above the central parking-area stairs. Choices include a large cutlet bowl, cold walnut-dip soba and warm soba or udon with mountain vegetables or shiitake. A meal can come before or after shrine worship, but the early closing differs from an urban restaurant that continues through the evening, making order of visits relevant.
Prices for bowls and hot or cold noodles
The waraji cutlet bowl is ¥1,200 and curry rice ¥1,000. Walnut-dip and plain cold soba or udon cost ¥1,000. Warm noodle bowls with mountain vegetables, yam, nameko or shiitake are also ¥1,000, or ¥900 plain. Shakushina rice is ¥400 and two miso-dengaku pieces ¥200. A snack purchase and a seated terrace meal involve different ordering requirements, so choose the appropriate use according to whether a main dish is wanted.
Terrace ordering rules and the pet restriction
Terrace seating is for diners ordering at least one soba, udon, cutlet bowl or curry per person. Children occupying seats also need their own order. Miso dengaku, snacks or drinks alone do not qualify for terrace seating, and pets cannot accompany guests there. The restaurant also declines use merely as an indoor meeting place and prioritises diners. Indoor tables and tatami seating are available, but a preferred seating type cannot always be provided.
Fit the ten-o’clock opening around mountain travel
Opening begins at 10:00 and ends at 15:00 weekdays or 16:00 weekends/holidays, earlier if ingredients run out. Closures are irregular and reservations unavailable. Bus users travelling from Seibu-Chichibu towards Mitsumine Shrine can combine worship, lunch and the return departure. Drivers use the municipal Mitsumine parking area and climb the stairs towards the torii. The restaurant’s address is 297-2 Mitsumine, distinct from the shrine’s own street number.
Other stops to combine within Chichibu
Central sightseeing, stops in Yoshida or Arakawa, and mountain roads towards Otaki or Mitsumine require different travel times. Fit meal-order deadlines and accommodation arrival around the next stop by car or railway. Choose related parking according to its own facility or area and the applicable use conditions.
