四萬部寺のお寺カフェは、巡礼や参拝の合間に、精進料理、お茶、台湾の甘味を味わえる場所です。本堂を望む縁側席と室内席があり、境内の空間で過ごせます。十食限定の精進ランチは予約者向けなので、ふらりと甘味に立ち寄る利用とは注文の仕組みが異なります。

札所一番の境内で食事とお茶を取る
四萬部寺は秩父三十四ヶ所の札所一番で、カフェはその境内にあります。県指定有形文化財の本堂を眺める縁側と、天候に左右されにくい室内の茶室空間を備えます。参拝の前後に甘味を選んだり、予約した昼食のために立ち寄ったりできる小さな飲食施設です。寺の建物を見る時間と、食事を囲んで過ごす時間を一つの訪問にまとめられます。
十食限定の精進料理とカレー
精進ランチは税込3,300円、予約者だけの限定十食です。動物性食材と五葷を使わず、食前には五観の偈の話があり、食後は二種類から選ぶ甘味と一種類のお茶を楽しめます。お寺のカレー1,650円は野菜ジュースで煮込み、ココナッツミルクと豆乳を使う料理で、こちらも動物性食品と五葷を使いません。季節の食材により内容が変わる食事です。
台湾甘味と十五時の注文締切
台湾豆花、仙草ゼリー、黒胡麻の湯圓は各680円、さつまいもボール450円です。抹茶800円、ジャスミン茶、ローズ紅茶、桂花烏龍茶は各450円で、全て税込。開店10時、閉店17時ですがラストオーダーは15時と早めです。月曜と木曜はカフェ休業で、寺が参拝できる日でも飲食はできない場合があります。予約は店のInstagramのDMで受け付けます。
寺へのバスと駐車、拝観時間の違い
西武秩父駅から皆野駅行きのバスで約25分、札所一番下車。または定峰方面で栃谷まで約24分、徒歩3分です。車は花園IC約40分、皆野長瀞IC約10分、寺には普通車・マイクロバス・大型バスの駐車が可能です。寺の拝観は3～10月8～17時、11～2月8～16時で年中無休ですが、カフェの営業日と時間は別。食事の予約と参拝の予定を合わせて訪ねられます。
秩父市内で組み合わせる訪問先
市街の見学、吉田・荒川の立ち寄り、大滝や三峰の山道では移動に必要な時間が異なります。食事の注文締切と宿への到着時間を合わせ、関連する施設へ車や鉄道で続く行程を組めます。駐車場はそれぞれの施設・地域での利用条件に合わせて選べます。
The café at Shimabuji combines shojin cooking, tea and Taiwanese sweets with a pilgrimage-temple setting. Veranda seats looking towards the main hall and indoor seating provide different ways to spend time within the grounds. The ten-meal shojin lunch is reserved in advance, making it a different arrangement from a simpler stop for tea and something sweet.

A meal or tea within pilgrimage temple one
Shimabuji is number one on the thirty-four-temple Chichibu pilgrimage, and the café occupies its grounds. A veranda looks towards the prefecturally designated main hall, while an indoor tea-room setting offers shelter from the weather. A sweet stop around worship and a prebooked lunch are both possible forms of use. The café adds time at a table to a visit otherwise focused on the temple architecture and pilgrimage setting.
The ten-meal shojin lunch and temple curry
Shojin lunch costs ¥3,300 including tax and is limited to ten meals for reserved guests. It excludes animal ingredients and the five pungent vegetables, includes an introduction to the Five Reflections before eating, then a choice of two sweets and one tea. Temple curry, ¥1,650, uses vegetable juice, coconut milk and soy milk and likewise excludes animal ingredients and pungent vegetables. The seasonal produce shapes the dishes rather than a permanently identical lunch menu.
Taiwanese sweets and the early last-order time
Douhua, grass jelly and black-sesame tangyuan each cost ¥680, while sweet-potato balls are ¥450. Matcha is ¥800, with jasmine, rose black and osmanthus oolong teas ¥450 each, tax included. The café opens at 10:00 and closes at 17:00, but last orders end earlier at 15:00. Mondays and Thursdays close even though temple worship may be available. Reservations are handled through the café’s Instagram direct messages.
Temple transport, parking and visiting hours
From Seibu-Chichibu, take a bus towards Minano for about twenty-five minutes to Fudasho Ichiban, or towards Sadamine for about twenty-four minutes to Tochiya followed by a three-minute walk. Drive about forty minutes from Hanazono IC or ten from Minano-Nagatoro IC; temple parking accepts cars, minibuses and large buses. Temple visiting is daily, 08:00–17:00 March–October or until 16:00 November–February, separately from café opening, so coordinate meal reservations and worship accordingly.
Other stops to combine within Chichibu
Central sightseeing, stops in Yoshida or Arakawa, and mountain roads towards Otaki or Mitsumine require different travel times. Fit meal-order deadlines and accommodation arrival around the next stop by car or railway. Choose related parking according to its own facility or area and the applicable use conditions.
