つぐみ食堂は、日高川のそばにある道の駅「水の郷 日高川 龍游」の食堂です。龍神で育つ肉厚のしいたけを、丼、フライ、バーガーなどで楽しめます。山道の移動中に腰を落ち着けて昼食を取り、地域の食品や木工品を見てから次の場所へ向かえる拠点です。

肉厚しいたけをフライとバーガーで
龍神マッシュの肉厚しいたけを使う丼と、しいたけフライを挟むバーガーが食堂の名物です。バーガーは歯応えのあるしいたけにベーコン、レタスを合わせ、単品税込950円、セット1,500円。きのこだけの菜食バーガーではなく、肉の具材も含みます。丼は並1,100円、大1,350円です。同じしいたけでも、パンで食べるか、ご飯と合わせるかで昼食を選べます。龍神そばを半量組み合わせるセットもあります。
龍神そばと川魚の定食
しいたけ丼の並と龍神そばハーフは税込1,500円、食数限定のしいたけバーガーとそばハーフも1,500円です。そばは龍神村で栽培したそば粉を使います。あまご甘露煮定食、あまご塩焼き定食、鮎塩焼き定食はいずれも1,500円。チキンカツ、ロースカツ、からあげの定食は各1,250円です。原木しいたけとろろうどんや、しいたけフライと自家製熊野牛コロッケを載せるカレーなど、米飯以外の選択肢もあります。
昼の食堂と売店の時間を合わせる
食堂は11～14時30分、お土産を扱う龍游館は9～17時です。朝から売店が開いていても食事の営業前の時間があります。龍游館と食堂は火曜定休ですが、火曜が祝日の場合は営業し、年末年始にも休みます。店頭では各種キャッシュレス決済が利用できます。食品の売店には生しいたけ、ゆずの加工品、紀州の猪肉・鹿肉などが並びます。食事の後に持ち帰る品を選ぶと、昼食と買い物を一度の立ち寄りにまとめられます。
日高川沿いの木工と山道の休憩
所在地は龍神村福井512-1で、有田ICから国道424号を龍神温泉方面へ約50キロ、車約1時間です。併設のG.WORKSには紀州材の家具や木の小物、陶器、藍染の服などがあり、裏には家具工房があります。こちらは10～17時、水曜・年末年始休みで、食堂とは休みが異なります。日高川沿いで食事を取り、木工の展示も見るなど、それぞれの営業日を合わせて龍神を巡る途中の休憩を組み立てられます。
田辺市内で組み合わせる訪問先
田辺市は海辺の市街地から、龍神、中辺路、大塔、本宮の山間部へ広がります。食事の注文締切や宿の到着時間を決め、道路の移動と古道の徒歩を含めた時間で訪問先を組み合わせられます。駐車場は立ち寄る施設や地域の条件に合わせて選べます。
Tsugumi Shokudo is the dining room at Mizu-no-Sato Hidakagawa Ryuyu roadside station beside the Hidakagawa. Thick locally grown shiitake mushrooms appear in rice bowls, fried dishes and burgers. A stop during a mountain drive can combine a seated lunch with browsing local food and woodcraft before continuing the journey.

Thick shiitake in fried dishes and a burger
The dining room’s signatures include rice bowls made with thick Ryujin Mush shiitake and a burger filled with fried shiitake. The burger combines the substantial mushroom with bacon and lettuce, at ¥950 alone or ¥1,500 as a set, including tax. It contains meat and is not a vegetarian mushroom burger. Rice bowls cost ¥1,100 regular or ¥1,350 large. Choose bread or rice for a different way of enjoying the same local ingredient, with combinations including half a serving of Ryujin soba also available.
Ryujin soba and river-fish set meals
A regular shiitake rice bowl with half a Ryujin soba serving costs ¥1,500, as does the limited-quantity burger-and-half-soba combination. The soba uses buckwheat grown in Ryujin. Sweet-simmered amago trout, salt-grilled amago and salt-grilled ayu set meals each cost ¥1,500. Chicken cutlet, pork loin cutlet and fried-chicken sets are ¥1,250 each. Other choices include log-grown shiitake and grated-yam udon, or curry topped with shiitake fry and a house-made Kumano beef croquette, giving alternatives to a single rice-bowl meal.
Matching the dining and shopping hours
Dining runs 11:00–14:30, while Ryuyukan’s souvenir shop opens 09:00–17:00; morning shopping therefore begins before meals. Both close on Tuesdays except when Tuesday is a public holiday, and over New Year. Various cashless payment methods are accepted at the counter. Shop products include fresh shiitake, yuzu items and regional wild-boar and deer meat. Selecting something to take home after lunch combines eating and shopping in one stop without assuming that every facility shares the dining room’s hours.
Riverside woodcraft and a break on the mountain road
The current address is 512-1 Fukui in Ryujin. From Arida Interchange, the published approach follows Route 424 toward Ryujin Onsen for roughly fifty kilometres, or one hour by car. Adjoining G.WORKS displays local-timber furniture, wooden objects, pottery and indigo clothing, with a furniture workshop behind. Its hours are 10:00–17:00 with Wednesday and New Year closures, differing from the dining room. Align the separate opening days to combine a riverside meal with browsing the woodcraft displays during a Ryujin drive.
Other stops to combine within Tanabe
Tanabe extends from its coastal centre into the mountain districts of Ryujin, Nakahechi, Oto and Hongu. Fit the next stop around meal-order deadlines and accommodation arrival, allowing time for both road travel and any walking on the Kumano Kodo. Choose parking according to the facility or district visited and its use conditions.
