龍神温泉元湯は、日高川沿いの温泉街で日帰り入浴ができる共同浴場です。山あいの景色を眺める露天風呂と、村の檜を使った内風呂のある空間で湯を楽しめます。朝7時から夜まで開き、龍神の散策や山のドライブに入浴を組み合わせられます。

露天の岩風呂と村の檜を使う内湯
元湯は龍神温泉の源泉を使う共同浴場で、ナトリウム炭酸水素塩泉をかけ流しで楽しめます。露天には岩風呂、館内には内風呂があり、小浴場には龍神村産の檜を使っています。宿泊旅館に泊まる人専用の浴場ではなく、日帰り券で立ち寄れる施設です。日高川の渓流や山あいの風景に囲まれた立地で、季節の景色と入浴を一緒に楽しめます。
四月改定の料金と現金払い
2026年4月1日から、入浴は中学生以上1,000円、小学生500円です。幼児は無料の区分があります。料金は税込で、20名以上の団体は100円引き、障害者手帳提示でも100円引きとなります。日帰り回数券は11枚つづり8,500円。繰り返し訪れる場合の券と、一度だけ利用する入浴券を選べます。支払いは現金のみです。入浴券を購入して入場します。
朝の入浴と夜の最終受付
営業は7～21時で、最終入場は閉館20分前の20時40分です。朝に温泉へ入り、その後に龍神の村や山の観光へ出掛ける利用と、日中の移動後に立ち寄る利用を選べます。夜遅い到着では入場締め切りと21時の閉館を両方見込む必要があります。原則年中無休ですが、設備保守や故障による変更が加わる場合があります。渓流を眺める露天風呂では、昼の山の景色に加え、夜に星空を見上げる時間も過ごせます。
日高川沿いの温泉街に入る
所在地は龍神村龍神37です。紀伊山地の山間部にあり、田辺中心部からの移動では道路を進む時間と入浴時間を分けて確保できます。高野山方面と結ぶ国道371号、日高川沿いへ続く道を使うドライブでは、元湯を目的地にして温泉街で立ち寄れます。湯に入った後も山間の道を運転する場合は、休憩を含めて帰路を組み立てられます。
田辺市内で組み合わせる訪問先
田辺市は海辺の市街地から、龍神、中辺路、大塔、本宮の山間部へ広がります。食事の注文締切や宿の到着時間を決め、道路の移動と古道の徒歩を含めた時間で訪問先を組み合わせられます。駐車場は立ち寄る施設や地域の条件に合わせて選べます。
Ryujin Onsen Motoyu offers day bathing in the hot-spring settlement along the Hidakagawa River. An outdoor rock bath overlooks the mountain setting, while local hinoki is used in the smaller indoor bathing room. Opening from seven in the morning until evening makes a soak possible alongside village exploration or a drive through the mountains.

Outdoor stone bathing and local hinoki
Motoyu is a communal bath supplied by Ryujin’s sodium-bicarbonate spring and operated with flowing spring water. Facilities include an outdoor rock bath and indoor bathing rooms, with locally grown hinoki used in the smaller bath. A day-admission ticket provides access without staying at a particular inn. The river and mountain landscape form the setting for a seasonal bathing stop.
April’s revised prices and cash payment
From April 1, 2026, bathing costs ¥1,000 from junior-high age and ¥500 for primary pupils, with preschool children free. Prices include tax. Groups of twenty or more receive ¥100 off, as do eligible disability-certificate holders presenting proof. An eleven-ticket book costs ¥8,500, offering a separate choice for repeat visitors alongside single admission. Payment is cash only; purchase an admission ticket to enter.
Morning bathing and final evening admission
Opening runs 07:00–21:00, with final entry twenty minutes before closing at 20:40. A visit can begin with a morning soak before exploring Ryujin, or finish a day’s driving with bathing. For an evening arrival, allow time for both the entry deadline and the 21:00 closure. The bath ordinarily opens throughout the year, with possible maintenance or equipment-related changes. The outdoor bath overlooks the river and offers mountain scenery by day or a chance to look up at the stars at night.
Arrival in the Hidakagawa hot-spring settlement
The bath stands at 37 Ryujin in Tanabe’s mountainous Ryujin district. Travel from central Tanabe takes place on mountain roads, so allow separate time for the journey and the soak. Motoyu can be a stop on a drive through the hot-spring settlement, including approaches linked with Route 371 toward Koyasan and the Hidakagawa corridor. When continuing to drive through the mountains afterwards, include a rest and the onward journey in the schedule.

Tanabe extends from its coastal centre into the mountain districts of Ryujin, Nakahechi, Oto and Hongu. Fit the next stop around meal-order deadlines and accommodation arrival, allowing time for both road travel and any walking on the Kumano Kodo.
