千波湖西駐車場は、湖の西側やみと好文テラスに近い駐車場です。2026年8月から自動ゲートによる無人運営となり、無料の日も駐車券を受け取って出庫します。停める曜日、車の高さ、日をまたぐ利用で料金が変わります。

西側の散策拠点と普通車155台
千波町2751にあり、千波湖やみと好文テラスに近く、偕楽園東門までは徒歩約12分です。収容は月極区画を除く普通車155台、大型22台。車種ごとに空き状況を管理し、普通車は普通車用、大型は大型用の区画を使います。別車種の区画が空いていても同じようには利用できません。
曜日と車高で変わる料金
通常の平日は大型・普通車とも無料です。土日祝、1月1～3日、水戸の梅まつり期間は普通車500円、大型2,500円の1日1回料金で、入庫後30分以内は無料出庫できます。荷物を含む高さ2.4m以上は車種名にかかわらず大型扱いです。短時間でも30分を超えると定額となり、出口混雑で30分を超えた場合も返金はありません。
無料の日も駐車券を取り出口で精算
入口で駐車券を受け取り、出庫時に出口精算機へ入れます。無料の日にも券が必要で、事前精算機はありません。各種キャッシュレスに対応しますが、2千・5千・1万円札は使えません。紛失料金は5,000円。みと好文テラス駐車場の割引券は使えず、別の駐車場として精算します。駐車は先着順・予約不可で、月極の専用区画は利用対象外です。
日をまたぐ利用と同日の再入庫
無料日と有料日をまたぐ場合は、利用した有料営業日の日数分を出庫時に精算します。有料日に出庫して同じ日に入り直すと2回分の料金になります。24時間入出庫できることと、1回分だけで何日も停められることは異なります。バイクはゲートが反応しないため券を取らずトイレ脇のスロープから専用無料区画へ入り、普通車・大型区画には停めません。
水戸市内で組み合わせる訪問先
偕楽園・歴史館と千波湖の周辺では、庭園の見学と湖畔の食事を組み合わせられます。宿や飲食店の専用駐車場と一般利用の駐車場は利用目的が異なり、訪問先ごとに車を停める場所を選べます。駅前の店へ移動する場合も、宿の到着時刻、飲食の注文終了、駐車料金を合わせて一日の予定を組めます。
Senbako West Parking serves the lake’s western side and nearby Mito Kobun Terrace. Automated unmanned gates began operating in August 2026, and a ticket is needed even on free days. Charges depend on the day, vehicle height and whether the stay crosses into a charged date.

A western-lakeside base with 155 car spaces
At 2751 Senba-cho, the car park is near Lake Senba and Mito Kobun Terrace, about twelve minutes on foot from Kairakuen’s east gate. It holds 155 cars excluding monthly bays, plus twenty-two large vehicles. Availability is managed separately by vehicle class, and each must use the designated area. Empty spaces for another class do not make that section available to your vehicle.
Charges depend on the date and vehicle height
Ordinary weekdays are free for both vehicle classes. Weekends, public holidays, January 1–3 and the plum festival charge ¥500 per car or ¥2,500 per large vehicle per entry/day, with free exit within thirty minutes. Any vehicle measuring 2.4m or higher including loads is classified as large. Once thirty minutes is exceeded the flat fee applies, including when a queue at the exit causes the delay.
Take a ticket even on free days
Collect a ticket at entry and insert it into the exit machine when leaving. Tickets are required on free days too, and there is no advance-payment machine. Cashless payment is accepted, while ¥2,000, ¥5,000 and ¥10,000 notes are not. A lost ticket costs ¥5,000. Discount tickets for Mito Kobun Terrace’s separate car park are not valid here. Parking is first come without reservations, and monthly-reserved bays are excluded.
Overnight stays and same-day re-entry
A stay spanning free and charged dates is billed at exit for the number of charged days involved. Leaving and entering again on the same charged day produces two parking charges. Twenty-four-hour access therefore does not mean unlimited days for one fee. Motorcycles do not trigger the gate: they use the slope beside the toilets without taking a ticket and park in the dedicated free motorcycle area, outside car and large-vehicle bays.
Other stops to combine within Mito
Around Kairakuen, the history museum and Lake Senba, combine garden visits with lakeside meals. Hotel and restaurant parking serves a different purpose from general public parking, so choose a parking place for each destination. When continuing to station-side dining, coordinate hotel arrival, food last orders and parking charges across the day.
