Twenty-four suits of armour and metal casting
Permanent displays focus on Kurohimeyama Kofun, Kawachi metalworkers and tools from everyday life. Twenty-four suits of armour were excavated from the mound, about five minutes away on foot; weapons and haniwa help explain its historical setting. Kawachi metalworkers were active around present-day Mihara, Higashi and Matsubara from the late Heian to Kamakura periods. Some made household pots locally, while travelling specialists cast temple bells elsewhere. Objects including the former Shinrakuji bell introduce those techniques and wider connections.
