Choose Japanese or twin rooms with stair access
The inn has twenty-three Japanese rooms and four twin rooms. Standard Japanese rooms accommodate up to four; twins accommodate two and are all on the third floor. Guest rooms occupy floors two and three, with no lift, so luggage also travels by stairs. Every room is designated smoking-permitted, with deodorising on request rather than separate non-smoking categories. All have unit bathrooms. This distinction matters for travellers requiring a permanently non-smoking room rather than an aired and treated one.
Allow for the hot spring’s temperature
The baths use entirely source-fed water without dilution, at a hot 43–44°C. Each side has one bath and washing space for around five or six people. Both overnight and day visitors use the baths 06:00–midnight, last entry 23:30. Day admission is ¥550 for adults, ¥250 for elementary pupils and free for preschool children. With small bathing areas, staggered visits suit groups. Approach the temperature gradually and keep bathing within personal comfort and health limits.
Fit Japanese set meals around arrival
Meals are served in the first-floor hall. Japanese set breakfast runs 07:00–09:00, last entry 08:30. Dinner runs 17:00–20:30, last entry 19:30 and drinks last orders 20:00, with set-meal and kaiseki options. Meal-plan guests should match evening arrival to the dining cut-off. Standard checkout is 10:00, with paid extensions up to noon. A microwave and electric pot are on floor two, and one washer and dryer are on floor three.
Arrive from the tram terminus or by car
At 3-25-10 Yunokawa-cho, the inn is about five minutes from the Yunokawa tram terminus, fifteen minutes by car from the airport or twenty from Hakodate Station. Twenty parking spaces are free and first come. Yukura Shrine is roughly five minutes away on foot and the botanical garden fifteen. Organise luggage with the stairs in mind when combining walks and room time. Combined city/prefectural accommodation tax per person/night is ¥200 for a tax-exclusive room-only charge below ¥20,000, ¥400 for ¥20,000–under ¥50,000, ¥1,000 for ¥50,000–under ¥100,000, and ¥2,500 from ¥100,000. General onsen bathers also pay a separate ¥100 bathing tax; under-fifteens are exempt.
