大塔青少年旅行村は、日置川と山に囲まれたキャンプの拠点です。管理棟側の小さなバンガローや、持参したテントを張る区画、対岸の人数別バンガローを選べます。寝具や炊事道具を準備する滞在なので、人数だけでなく、持ち物と棟の設備を合わせて選ぶ施設です。

人数別の棟と持込みテントを選ぶ
管理棟側の四人用バンガローは一棟一日税込8,250円、六人用は9,350円で、エアコン、電源、鏡、小さな棚を備えます。栗の木広場のテント区画は一区画一泊3,300円、テントは持参し、貸出テントはありません。毛布とマットレスは別々に一枚一泊各330円で貸出し、枕は用意されません。調理道具にも貸出がありますが数量限定です。区画にはテントだけでなく、睡眠と調理に使う道具まで準備して向かいます。
入村料と施設料を分けて計算する
入村料は16歳以上800円、4～15歳600円、4歳未満無料で、バンガローやテント区画の料金を別に加算します。身体障害者手帳の提示で入村料は半額です。現地は現金払いのみで、カード・電子マネー・QR決済には対応しません。温水シャワーは一回約八分100円、洗髪剤やタオルは各自で準備します。退出後も川遊びやバーベキューで施設を使い続ける場合は、一人200円の環境保全維持費を改めて支払います。
二〇二六年十月の工事と予約窓口
2026年の開村期間は4月29日～5月7日と6月1日～10月31日です。10月は管理事務所の改修工事日程により予約を受け付けられない場合があります。予約センターは平日9～12時・13～17時、土日祝と昼休みは受付しません。FAXは送信後に担当者から連絡があって手続きを進める方式です。現地管理事務所では予約・変更・取消しを受け付けません。宿泊は13～16時到着、翌10時までに退出します。
車で向かう川辺の施設と場内ルール
紀伊田辺駅からレンタカーやタクシーで約40分、直通の鉄道・路線バス経路はありません。車は指定駐車場へ置き、バンガローの脇や川への駐車はできません。ペットは持込み不可ですが、介助犬・盲導犬・聴導犬は利用できます。ごみは入村時の袋へ分別し、帰る際に管理事務所へ渡します。炊事場を共同で使い、火の始末までが利用時間に含まれます。近くの富里温泉乙女の湯は休館しており、入浴は場内シャワーなどで組み立てます。
田辺市内で組み合わせる訪問先
田辺市は海辺の市街地から、龍神、中辺路、大塔、本宮の山間部へ広がります。食事の注文締切や宿の到着時間を決め、道路の移動と古道の徒歩を含めた時間で訪問先を組み合わせられます。駐車場は立ち寄る施設や地域の条件に合わせて選べます。
Oto Seishonen Ryoko Mura provides a camping base among the Hiki River and surrounding mountains. Options include small bungalows near the office, pitches for guests’ own tents and bungalows of different capacities across the river. As a stay involves preparing bedding and cooking equipment, choose by facilities and what the party will bring as well as by occupancy.

Choosing a bungalow or bringing a tent
Office-side bungalows cost ¥8,250 per unit per day for four people or ¥9,350 for six, including tax, and provide air conditioning, sockets, a mirror and a small shelf. Kurinoki Hiroba tent pitches cost ¥3,300 per site per night; bring a tent because none are rented. Blankets and mattresses are separate rentals at ¥330 each per night, and pillows are not provided. Limited cooking-equipment rentals are also available. Prepare the sleeping and cooking equipment needed for the chosen unit or pitch.
Calculating entry and accommodation separately
Entry costs ¥800 for ages sixteen and over, ¥600 for ages four to fifteen, and nothing for under-fours; bungalow or pitch charges are added separately. Presenting a physical disability certificate halves the entry fee. Payment is cash only, without cards, electronic money or QR payments. A hot shower costs ¥100 for approximately eight minutes; bring toiletries and towels. Continuing to use the grounds for river activities or barbecue after checking out incurs another ¥200 per person environmental-maintenance fee.
October 2026 works and booking arrangements
The 2026 opening periods are April 29–May 7 and June 1–October 31. Management-office renovation may prevent acceptance of October bookings, depending on the works schedule. The reservation centre operates weekdays 09:00–12:00 and 13:00–17:00, closing weekends, holidays and at lunch. Fax applications require follow-up contact from staff; sending the fax alone does not complete arrangements. The on-site office does not handle reservations, changes or cancellations. Arrive 13:00–16:00 and check out by 10:00 the next morning.
Reaching the riverside site and using the grounds
The published drive from Kii-Tanabe Station by rental car or taxi takes around forty minutes, with no direct rail or scheduled-bus route. Park in designated parking areas rather than beside bungalows or on the riverbank. Pets cannot be brought, but guide, hearing and mobility-assistance dogs are permitted. Sort waste into the bags provided at entry and hand them to the office when leaving. Shared kitchens and fire cleanup must fit within the booked time. Nearby Tomisato Onsen Otome-no-Yu is closed, so plan washing around options such as the campsite showers.
Other stops to combine within Tanabe
Tanabe extends from its coastal centre into the mountain districts of Ryujin, Nakahechi, Oto and Hongu. Fit the next stop around meal-order deadlines and accommodation arrival, allowing time for both road travel and any walking on the Kumano Kodo. Choose parking according to the facility or district visited and its use conditions.
