Yasudaya is a coastal ryokan at Uchiura Mito associated with Osamu Dazai. Tatami corridors and a garden-side passage lead to Japanese rooms and natural hot-spring baths. Sea-facing, mountain-facing and outdoor-bath categories offer different stays, whether the focus is literary history or time in the baths. Day bathing has specific visiting windows separate from the resident guests’ arrangements.

Dazai’s room and Japanese-style accommodation
In February 1947, Dazai stayed for about half a month and wrote the first two chapters of The Setting Sun in what is now the Tsukimisou room. That room remains available for overnight stays, and the small Izu Bunko collection introduces literary connections with the peninsula. The ryokan has 15 rooms, including sea-facing and mountain-facing Japanese rooms and categories with outdoor baths. Choose a sea-facing category when the outlook matters. Sukiya-style details and tatami corridors extend the architectural experience beyond the guest room.
Stay prices and luggage arrangements
For two adults sharing a room, a one-night stay with dinner and breakfast starts at ¥19,800 per person including tax and service, with ¥150 bathing tax added separately. Select the date, room and meal plan together. Check-in is 14:00 and checkout 10:00. Luggage storage begins at noon on arrival day and ends at noon on departure day; parking follows the same time window. This helps organize an early local walk without assuming all-day parking. The property provides spaces for 20 ordinary cars.
Natural hot springs and private bathing
Resident bathing is available 14:00–23:00 in the main and open-air baths. The reservable private bath operates 15:00–23:00 at ¥1,100 for 50 minutes, while selected rooms include their own outdoor baths. Day visitors use the 12:00–14:00 or 18:00–20:00 windows and must leave by the stated finish. Day admission costs ¥1,000 for adults or ¥500 for children, with bath-towel rental at ¥200. Choose between a short bathing stop and an overnight stay according to the time you want to spend here.
Getting to Mito Bay and staying with meals
Public-transport routes approach the Izu Mito Sea Paradise stop by bus from Izu-Nagaoka or Numazu Station. Drivers can come from Nagaoka Interchange towards Mito, or from central Numazu via Route 414 and prefectural Route 17. A coastal base leaves time to explore Uchiura and Nishiura rather than returning to the city after each stop. With meals included, arrange the arrival bath and dinner as part of the stay. Select the room’s bathing and outlook options, then leave time to enjoy the following morning.
