湯の峯荘は、湯の峰の温泉街から歩いて十分～十五分ほどの高台にある和室の宿です。男女別の大浴場と露天風呂に加え、空いていれば使える家族風呂が二つあります。部屋の広さ、食事プラン、人数で料金を選び、熊野本宮の散策と湯の時間を組み合わせられます。

二階と三階の和室で泊まる
客室はすべて和室で、十畳は大人五名まで、八畳は二名まで、十畳と六畳の二間続きは六～八名向けです。各室にトイレ、洗面台、冷蔵庫、Wi-Fiを備えます。客室は二・三階にあり、エレベーターはなく階段で移動します。館内は電子たばこも含め禁煙。風呂付き客室を選び分けることはできず、客室の風呂は温泉ではありません。温泉を個別に使いたい場合は、館内の家族風呂を選べます。
一人当たりの宿泊料金と食事
平日・二名一室のお手軽二食付きは、八畳一人14,450円、十畳一人16,650円です。いずれも消費税10％と入湯税150円を含む一人分で、一室総額ではありません。同条件の素泊まりは八畳10,050円、十畳12,250円。休前日は加算があり、お手軽・朝食のみ・素泊まりは正月、ゴールデンウィーク、お盆に利用できません。会席風の手作り料理を用意し、食事場所は部屋・個室・広間のいずれかで指定不可です。
空き順で使う家族風呂と大浴場
源泉かけ流し・循環なしの湯を使い、夏は高温の源泉で浴槽を満たす際だけ加水します。入浴は12時～翌9時、清掃の9～12時は使えません。大浴場は男女入替の21時45分～22時10分も休止。家族風呂の内湯二つは予約・追加料不要で、空いている時に木札を入浴中へ替え、内鍵をかけて一組約30分使います。日帰りは12～15時、大人1,000円・小学生500円・未就学無料で家族風呂も含み、不定休です。
温泉街からの移動と支払い
下湯の峰バス停から徒歩約3分、つぼ湯や湯筒のある温泉街から徒歩約10～15分です。専任送迎スタッフはおらず、送迎はチェックイン・アウト時間帯に限り、温泉街から電話で迎えを頼む方式です。本宮大社からは基本路線バスで、次便まで待つ時は当日電話で迎えを利用できる場合があります。フロント対応のため待つこともあります。玄関前は台数限定の無料駐車場。支払いは現金かPayPayで、クレジットカードは使えません。
田辺市内で組み合わせる訪問先
田辺市は海辺の市街地から、龍神、中辺路、大塔、本宮の山間部へ広がります。食事の注文締切や宿の到着時間を決め、道路の移動と古道の徒歩を含めた時間で訪問先を組み合わせられます。駐車場は立ち寄る施設や地域の条件に合わせて選べます。
Yunominesou stands on higher ground roughly ten to fifteen minutes’ walk from Yunomine’s hot-spring village. Separate communal and outdoor baths are complemented by two private family baths available whenever vacant. Rates depend on room size, meal plan and occupancy, allowing a stay combining time in the water with exploration around Kumano Hongu.

Staying in upstairs tatami rooms
All rooms have tatami flooring: ten-tatami rooms accommodate up to five adults, eight-tatami rooms two, and the connecting ten-plus-six layout six to eight. Rooms include a toilet, washbasin, refrigerator and Wi-Fi. They occupy floors two and three, reached by stairs without a lift. The building prohibits smoking, including e-cigarettes. A room with a bathroom cannot be specifically selected, and room baths do not contain hot-spring water. For a private hot-spring soak, use one of the family baths instead.
Per-person rates and meal arrangements
For two adults sharing on a weekday, the Otegaru dinner-and-breakfast plan is ¥14,450 per person in eight tatami or ¥16,650 in ten. These are per-person amounts including ten-percent consumption tax and ¥150 bathing tax, not a room total. Room-only rates on the same basis are ¥10,050 and ¥12,250. Holiday-eve supplements apply, and Otegaru, breakfast-only and room-only plans are unavailable at New Year, Golden Week and Obon. Handmade kaiseki-style meals are served in a room, private room or hall, without a choice of dining venue.
First-come private baths and communal bathing
The baths use flow-through spring water without recirculation; water is added only while filling with the very hot source in summer. Bathing runs noon to 09:00 next morning, closing 09:00–12:00 for cleaning. Communal baths also close 21:45–22:10 for the gender changeover. The two indoor private baths need neither reservation nor extra payment: turn the sign, lock the door and use for around thirty minutes per party. Day bathing runs 12:00–15:00 at adult ¥1,000, primary pupil ¥500 or preschooler free, including family baths, with irregular closure days.
Village access and payment
The inn is around three minutes on foot from Shimo-Yunomine bus stop, or ten to fifteen from the village’s Tsuboyu and cooking spring. No dedicated shuttle staff are employed; village pickups are requested by telephone and limited to check-in and check-out periods. From Hongu Taisha, scheduled buses are the normal option, although a same-day telephone pickup may be possible when waiting for the next bus. Reception staff provide transfers, so waiting may be necessary. Free entrance-side parking is limited. Pay by cash or PayPay; credit cards are not accepted.
Other stops to combine within Tanabe
Tanabe extends from its coastal centre into the mountain districts of Ryujin, Nakahechi, Oto and Hongu. Fit the next stop around meal-order deadlines and accommodation arrival, allowing time for both road travel and any walking on the Kumano Kodo. Choose parking according to the facility or district visited and its use conditions.
