美保関灯台ビュッフェは、島根半島の東端で海を眺めながら食事ができる店です。灯台守の旧宿舎を活用し、窓の向こうに日本海が広がる席でイカ料理を味わえます。美保関の町から岬へ足を延ばす日の昼食や、灯台周辺を歩いた後の休憩に組み込めます。

灯台守の旧宿舎で海を眺める

灯台に隣接する旧宿舎を食事処として使い、建物を訪ねる楽しみと海の眺めを合わせられます。カウンターを含めて全席から日本海を望めるため、食事の合間にも空や水面の変化に目を向けられます。灯台の初代レンズも展示し、岬の散策を建物の中へつなげられる場所です。店内の休憩と外歩きを組み合わせ、天候に合わせて過ごせます。

イカめしやイカ丼を昼食に

店を代表するメニューはイカめしとイカ丼です。岬までのドライブの途中に持参食だけで済ませるのではなく、海を前に座ってイカ料理を楽しむ昼食にできます。食事を終えてから外へ出る順でも、灯台の周りを歩いてから立ち寄る順でも、店の休憩時間を避けて組み立てるのが便利です。眺望を楽しみたい場合は、食事の時間も旅程に含めておけます。

十三時頃の休憩と水曜の売場だけ営業

営業は10～16時ですが、13時頃から約1時間の休憩があります。水・木曜は飲食が休みで、水曜は土産物売場のみ営業します。売場が開いていても食事ができる日とは限りません。お盆と正月にも休みがあるため、大型休暇の岬巡りでは食事を取る場所と順番を考えておくと回りやすくなります。午後に訪ねるなら16時の閉店も行程に入れておけます。

岬の駐車場と現金での支払い

所在地は美保関町美保関1388-10で駐車場があります。カード・キャッシュレスには対応していないため、食事や買物は現金を用意します。美保関の町並みと灯台の岬は別の場所なので、町歩きと合わせる日は移動時間も確保できます。灯台内部の特別公開と店の通常営業は別で、内部見学の実施日だけを食事の営業日と取り違えないよう行程を組めます。

Mihonoseki Lighthouse Buffet offers meals with sea views at the eastern end of the Shimane Peninsula. Former lighthouse keepers’ quarters now house seats looking across the Sea of Japan, with squid specialities among the food. It can fit lunch on a trip from Mihonoseki village to the cape or a break after walking around the lighthouse.

Sea views from former keepers’ quarters

The former residence beside the lighthouse combines a historic setting with a meal. Every seat, including the counter, faces the Sea of Japan, making changes in sky and water part of the visit. The lighthouse’s original lens is also displayed, extending a cape walk indoors. Combine the restaurant stop with outdoor time according to the weather.

Ika-meshi or a squid rice bowl for lunch

The principal dishes include ika-meshi and squid rice bowls. They provide a seated seafood lunch facing the water during a cape drive. Either eat before walking around the lighthouse or stop afterwards, arranging the order around the restaurant break. Allowing time for the meal itself also makes room to enjoy the outlook.

The midday break and Wednesday’s shop-only opening

Although listed hours are 10:00–16:00, there is an approximately one-hour break around 13:00. Food service closes Wednesdays and Thursdays; only the souvenir shop opens Wednesdays, so an open shop does not imply meal service. Obon and New Year also include closures. Plan the order of food and walking during major holiday trips, and account for the 16:00 finish when arriving in the afternoon.

Parking at the cape and cash payment

Parking is available at 1388-10 Mihonoseki. Bring cash for meals and purchases because cards and cashless payment are not accepted. The village streets and lighthouse cape are separate locations, so allow travel time when seeing both. Special openings inside the lighthouse are separate from normal restaurant operation; a meal visit does not depend on an interior-viewing event.
