由志園｜大根島の池泉庭園と通年の牡丹、季節料金と天空茶室

由志園は、大根島で牡丹の花と出雲の風景を写した庭を巡る施設です。池の岸、溶岩の滝、苔や木々の間を歩き、温度管理された牡丹の館にも立ち寄れます。花の季節だけでなく庭の緑や水面を見て過ごせる場所で、食事や喫茶を組み合わせる訪問にも向きます。

Yuushien combines peonies with garden landscapes inspired by the Izumo region. Walk beside ponds, lava-stone waterfalls, moss and trees, and visit the climate-controlled Peony House. The garden’s water and greenery provide interest beyond the main outdoor flowering season, with dining and café options for a longer visit.

池や溶岩に写した出雲の風景

1970年に庭園工事を始め、現在は約4万㎡の池泉回遊式庭園です。奥出雲の渓谷や川、湖面、中海越しの大山などを、庭の岩や水の流れ、築山に置き換えています。竜渓滝や溶岩庭園、池に架かる橋を見ながら歩くと、場所ごとに景色の向きが変わります。木々や水面を見下ろす休み処で一息つき、歩く時間と眺める時間を分けられます。

一年中の牡丹と園内の食事

牡丹の館では温度・湿度・日照を調整して、一年を通じて牡丹を咲かせています。屋外の牡丹庭園や季節の花、紅葉とは異なる見方ができる場所です。茶房一望は大きな窓から庭園を眺め、高麗人参の飲み物などを用意。個人向け食事処「竹りん」は予約なしの当日利用もでき、園内飲食には別途の入園料が必要です。料理や喫茶代は入園料とは別に組み立てます。

季節の入園料と天空茶室の条件

一般入園料は季節により1,000～2,000円税込で、小中高生は学生証の提示で半額、幼児無料です。障害者手帳の本人と介護者1名は半額、要支援・要介護認定の介護保険証は本人のみ半額。天空茶室は通常券だけでは入れず、当日利用では年間パス「スイートプラス」3,900円税込を選べます。階段で移動し、天候や安全上の理由で利用できない場合があります。

通常の閉園時刻と車・車椅子

通常9時30分～17時、最終入園は閉園30分前で、年中無休を基本にイベント時は時間・料金が変わります。普通車300台の駐車は無料、松江駅から車約25分、米子空港から約15分です。駐車場から庭園を車椅子で散策でき、車椅子も無料貸出し。ペット同伴入園はできませんが、盲導犬・介助犬は入園できます。夜間鑑賞を予定する日は、通常の閉園時刻と開催日の設定を分けて選べます。

Izumo landscapes in ponds and lava stone

Started in 1970, the garden now extends across roughly 40,000 m². Rocks, flowing water and planted hills evoke Izumo valleys and rivers, lake surfaces and Mount Daisen beyond Nakaumi. The Ryukeidaki waterfall, lava garden and pond bridges offer changing viewpoints. Pause at a rest area overlooking trees and water, alternating the walking circuit with time simply watching the landscape.

Year-round peonies and garden dining

Temperature, humidity and light are managed in the Peony House to produce flowers throughout the year, complementing outdoor peonies, seasonal flowers and autumn foliage. Café Ichibo has broad garden windows and ginseng drinks. Chikurin accepts individual diners with or without advance reservations; garden admission is still required for the restaurant. Budget food and drinks separately from entry.

Seasonal admission and elevated-tea-room conditions

Seasonal entry costs ¥1,000–¥2,000 including tax, half price for school pupils with student ID and free for preschool children. Disability certificates give half price to the holder and one carer; eligible care-insurance documents give the holder half price. Ordinary entry does not include the elevated tea room. The ¥3,900 Sweet Plus annual pass offers same-day use, reached by stairs and subject to weather and safety restrictions.

Closing time, driving and wheelchair use

Normally open daily 09:30–17:00, last entry thirty minutes earlier; event hours and charges can differ. Three hundred car spaces are free, about twenty-five minutes’ drive from Matsue Station or fifteen from Yonago Airport. Wheelchairs can travel from parking through the garden and are loaned free. Pets cannot enter, while guide and assistance dogs are admitted. For an evening visit, use the event’s specific schedule rather than ordinary closing time.
