Mihokan adjoins Mihonoseki harbour and its blue-stone lane. A stay can include dining in the historic wooden main building and bathing in the newer building, moving between spaces with different functions. Views across the bay towards Mount Daisen complement walks around Miho Shrine in the morning or evening.

文化財の本館と宿泊する建物

本館は1908年竣工、2004年に国の登録有形文化財となり、建具や電灯などに当時の姿を残します。現在は朝食や宴会の会場で、宿泊は客室と大浴場のある新館、一日一組の別邸などから選びます。宿泊者は20～21時に本館を自由に見学でき、灯りのともる木造の空間を歩けます。建物ごとに階段や段差があるため、移動しやすさも部屋選びの要素です。

七階の展望浴場と屋上の貸切湯

新館7階の展望大浴場は5時30分～23時30分で、美保湾や大山を望めます。段差には手摺があり、高めの椅子や子ども用の椅子・桶も用意。屋上の檜・織部焼の貸切露天は1回50分2,200円、予約時またはチェックイン時に申し込みます。最終開始21時で、7階からさらに階段を上がる必要があります。部屋のタオルを持参して利用します。

港の食材と本館でいただく朝食

料理は境港や美保関の水揚げを取り入れ、夕食は個室でいただきます。新館・別邸どこに泊まっても、朝食は本館で白イカのお造りやしじみ汁などを楽しめます。食材は季節や水揚げで変わり、アレルギーは宿泊5日前までに申告。宿泊料は建物・日付・料理で異なり、税抜き素泊まり相当額5,000円以上なら宿泊税200円、未満免除です。温泉宿泊の入湯税は原則150円、小学生以下は免除です。

美保関バス停と送迎、子ども連れの条件

チェックイン15時30分・アウト10時、無料駐車場あり。バスは「美保関バスターミナル」から町営バスに乗り換え、終点「美保関」で降りてすぐです。米子空港・境港駅・七類港からの送迎は予約時の相談制で、状況により対応できません。0歳から宿泊でき、離乳食や持参食の温めにも対応。館内禁煙、ペット同伴宿泊不可で、近くのコンビニ等は車で約10分です。

The historic main building and accommodation options

Completed in 1908 and registered nationally in 2004, the main building retains historic fittings and lights. It now hosts breakfast and events; accommodation options include the newer building with guestrooms and communal bath, and private houses for one party per day. Staying guests may explore the illuminated main building freely from 20:00–21:00. Stairs and level changes vary between buildings, making mobility part of accommodation selection.

Seventh-floor bathing and private rooftop baths

The new building’s seventh-floor communal bath overlooks Miho Bay and Daisen, opening 05:30–23:30. Handrails accompany level changes, with higher chairs and children’s bathing equipment provided. Rooftop cypress and Oribe ceramic private outdoor baths cost ¥2,200 per fifty-minute session; book with the reservation or at check-in. The last session starts at 21:00. Access requires stairs above the seventh floor; bring room towels.

Local seafood and breakfast in the main building

Meals use seafood landed at Sakaiminato and Mihonoseki, with dinner served privately. Guests in the newer building or private houses have breakfast in the main building, with dishes such as squid sashimi and shijimi-clam soup according to season and landings. Report allergies at least five days before arrival. Prices vary by building, date and meals. Accommodation tax is ¥200 at a tax-exclusive room-only equivalent of ¥5,000 or more, otherwise exempt. Standard overnight bathing tax is ¥150, exempt for primary pupils and younger.

The correct bus stop, transfers and families

Check-in is 15:30 and checkout 10:00, with free parking. Change at Mihonoseki Bus Terminal onto the local bus and continue to the final Mihonoseki stop beside the inn. Discuss transfers from Yonago Airport, Sakaiminato Station or Shichirui Port when booking; they may be unavailable. Children are accepted from birth, with baby-food and reheating assistance available. Interiors are nonsmoking and pets cannot stay. Convenience stores are around ten minutes away by car.
