森のシェーブル館｜森林公園のチーズ工房とミルクソフト400円

山羊乳チーズと牛乳の菓子を作る工房

1991年から山羊乳チーズを販売し、2023年には森林公園内に新しいチーズ工房が整いました。山羊乳は長野県産、牛乳は茨城県産の生乳を使用しています。店内にはチーズやタルトを選ぶ販売コーナーとカフェがあり、工房で作る味をその場で楽しめます。散策の休憩にも、土産のチーズを選ぶ立ち寄りにも向きます。

400円のソフトとキッシュ、タルト

手作りソフトクリームは1個400円で、保存料を使わず茨城県産生乳の風味を生かしています。チーズとベーコンのキッシュとカップアイスは各330円、プレーンのレアチーズタルト300円、季節のタルト350円。タルトのコーヒー・紅茶セットは600円、季節のタルトセット650円、ホエードリンク150円です。軽食と甘味を組み合わせて休憩できます。

土日祝のチーズ盛り合わせと休館日

チーズプラトーは土日祝限定で、カマンベール、ゴーダ、カチョカバロ、ストリングチーズなどを盛り合わせ、季節によって山羊乳チーズが入ります。価格は組み合わせによって変わります。営業時間は9時～16時30分。月曜休館で、月曜が祝日・振替休日なら翌日が休みとなり、12月29日～1月3日も休館です。平日はソフトやタルトなどから選べます。

森林公園内の全隈町1454へ

所在地は全隈町1454、水戸市森林公園内です。車では水戸ICから笠間方面へ向かい、加倉井町交差点を右折して道なりに約6km進み、森林公園への案内から入ります。園内では森のシェーブル館の看板に従って坂を上ります。チーズを買う売店と飲食するカフェが同じ建物にあるため、散策の前後で持ち帰る品とその場で食べる品を選べます。

水戸市内で組み合わせる訪問先

七ツ洞公園や森林公園、内原の訪問先へは、駅周辺の徒歩散策とは別に車やバスの移動時間を取ります。花苑の門が開く時刻やカフェの定休日、宿での食事に合わせて回れます。ここに挙げる駐車場は市内移動の選択肢で、各施設の専用駐車場とは利用目的が異なります。内原駅前の短時間料金と赤塚の上限料金も行程に合わせて選べます。

Mori no Chevre-kan offers cheeses and dairy sweets among the trees of Mito Forest Park. Combine a café break with shopping for house-made cheeses and baked treats. Although chevre refers to goat-milk cheese, the soft serve here uses cow milk produced in Ibaraki.

A workshop for goat cheeses and cow-milk treats

Goat-cheese sales began in 1991, and a new cheese workshop opened in the forest park in 2023. Goat milk comes from Nagano and cow milk from Ibaraki. The building combines a retail area for cheeses and tarts with café seating, allowing a tasting break and a souvenir purchase on the same visit. It is a practical stop during a walk through the wooded park.

Soft serve, quiche and cheese tarts

House-made soft serve costs ¥400 and uses Ibaraki cow milk without preservatives. Cheese-and-bacon quiche and cup ice cream are ¥330 each. Plain rare-cheese tarts cost ¥300 and seasonal tarts ¥350. A tart with coffee or tea is ¥600, or ¥650 for the seasonal version; a whey drink is ¥150. These choices cover a small savoury snack as well as a sweet café break.

Weekend cheese platters and closing days

Cheese platters are limited to Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Selections include Camembert, Gouda, Caciocavallo and string cheese, with goat cheese included seasonally; the price depends on the cheeses. Opening hours are 9:00–16:30. Monday is the regular closing day, moving to the following day when Monday is a public or substitute holiday. The shop also closes December 29–January 3. Soft serve and tarts provide alternatives on weekdays.

Reach the café inside the forest park

The address is 1454 Mataguma-cho within Mito Forest Park. From Mito Interchange, drive towards Kasama, turn right at Kakuraicho junction and continue about six kilometres to the forest-park signs. Follow the Chevre-kan signs uphill inside the park. Retail and café spaces share the building, so arrange the walk around what you want to eat immediately and what you wish to take away.

Other stops to combine within Mito

Visits to Nanatsudo Park, the forest park and Uchihara need driving or bus time beyond a station-area walk. Coordinate flower-garden gates, café closing days and hotel meals. The listed car parks are options for journeys within the city, with a different purpose from each attraction’s own parking.
