This lot serves car and bus visits to Ashio’s trolley and mine-tunnel attraction. Parking is free, with separate mine admission tickets. Construction in autumn 2026 changes the entry and exit route, so allow for the return distance and steps when planning arrival and departure.

Free spaces for cars and buses
The attraction at 9-2 Tsudo provides free parking for one hundred cars and seventeen large buses. Bus parking is unreserved, separate from group-admission arrangements. Mine group rates apply from fifteen paying visitors, so organise vehicle spaces and visitor bookings separately. Families can leave the car, reach the ticket office and continue through the attraction by trolley and on foot.
Construction redirects entry through Fureaikan
Demolition of the old rest house redirects entry from September 2, 2026 through a temporary ticket office in Fureaikan. Follow the construction-route map from the lot to reception. After the visit, the exit-to-parking route is about 250 metres, with roughly fifteen metres of height difference and seventy steps. Visitors unable to use the stairs, including wheelchair users, can arrange the normal-gate approach with reception.
Mine tickets and the 16:15 deadline
Parking is free but mine admission costs ¥830 for high-school age and older, ¥410 for primary/junior-high pupils and nothing for preschool children. Visits run 9:00–17:00, with final entry and trolley departure at 16:15. The trolley covers the outward 150 metres only, followed by about 300 metres on foot. For afternoon arrivals allow time to walk to tickets, enter and return to the car afterwards.
Attraction closures from December and access
From December 3, 2026, the attraction closes Thursdays in December–February except holidays, plus December 31–January 2. March–November closes on the second Thursday, changing to the fourth in August or when the second is a holiday. Plan the drive around the attraction’s opening days when visiting the mine. Tsudo Station is about five minutes away on foot; the usual drive from Kiyotaki IC is about twenty-two minutes. Follow the on-site construction route on arrival.
Other stops to combine within Nikko
Ashio links the mine trolley and tunnels, a confectioner near Tsudo Station and a valley hot-spring inn. Construction adds walking and steps between the mine entrance, exit and parking, so arrive with time before last admission. Coordinate bath reception, confectioner closures and trains or a prebooked guest transfer when combining the town with the mountain stay.
