Read the finds from Fukuichi and Aoki
Displays include excavated material from Fukuichi, Aoki and other sites around the city. Objects left in settlements and graves illuminate both daily activities and ritual. Examples include a deep Jomon pot, an antler axe, Yayoi clay whistles and polished stone swords, and a wooden field boat used to move tools and harvested rice. Comparing materials and functions across periods shows how archaeological evidence reaches beyond food production into belief and ceremonial life.
Combine free displays with the archaeological park
The museum stands at the park entrance, making it easy to view finds before walking on the archaeological hill. Fukuichi and Aoki preserve evidence of settlements and other activity from the Yayoi and Kofun periods. Cherry trees and azaleas add seasonal interest in spring. The temporary exhibition “History Reflected in Mirrors” runs September 9, 2026–February 8, 2027. Both permanent and temporary displays are free, connecting the physical landscape with objects recovered from it.
Closing time and accessible facilities
Opening is 09:30–17:00, with entry ending at 16:30. Tuesdays are closed, shifting to the following day when Tuesday is a public holiday; December 29–January 3 is also closed. Ramps and a wheelchair-accessible toilet are provided, and guide and assistance dogs are accepted. If walking outside first, work back from the last-entry deadline. Free admission does not extend the indoor timetable, so allocate separate time for the park and exhibition rooms.
Parking and the Anyoji-iriguchi bus approach
At 461-20 Fukuichi, the museum has twenty-eight parking spaces and accepts coaches. By car, follow Route 181 roughly five kilometres from Yonago Station towards Okayama. Hinomaru buses towards Mizoguchi and Hino reach Anyoji-iriguchi in about twenty minutes. Choose a service that actually calls there; the route guidance excludes the Miuchidani-bound variant. Allow travel time beyond a station-area walk, and plan the return connection alongside the time spent in Fukuichi.
