旧函館区公会堂｜港を望む1910年の洋館とハイカラ衣裳体験

元町の高台に立つ1910年の洋館。一般300円、11～3月は9～17時、最終入館16時30分です。2026年10月21日からシアタールームと一部順路を閉鎖し、12月中旬までの予定。ほかの展示は通常通り見学できます。

A hillside Western-style hall dating from 1910. General admission ¥300; November–March 09:00–17:00, last entry 16:30. The theatre room and part of the route are closed from October 21, with reopening planned around mid-December 2026. Other displays remain open as usual.

大広間・歴史展示・バルコニー

1910年に完成し、住民の集会所や商業会議所として使われた建物です。球戯室の歴史展示、小食堂の映像、皇族の滞在に使われた部屋、大広間を見学でき、バルコニーから港を望めます。大広間の貸室や催しにより見学範囲が変わる場合があります。

2026年10月21日から工事によりシアタールームと観覧順路の一部を閉鎖し、12月中旬までの予定です。ほかの展示は通常通り見学でき、同じ映像は小食堂のジャーニーズシアターで見られます。大食堂にも映像コーナーがあります。

入館料と共通券

入館料は一般300円、学生・生徒・児童150円、未就学児無料です。20名以上の団体は一般240円、学生等120円。旧イギリス領事館・北方民族資料館・文学館との共通券は、一般が2館500円・3館720円・4館840円、学生等が250円・360円・420円です。ハイカラ衣裳館の衣裳体験は別料金で、現金払いのみとなります。

季節別の開館時間と休館日

4～10月は火～金9～18時、土～月9～19時。11～3月は9～17時で、最終入館は閉館30分前です。保守点検の終日休館は2026年11月17日と2027年1月26日。年末年始は2026年12月31日～2027年1月3日に休館します。

アクセスと衣裳館の受付

末広町電停から坂道を上り徒歩約7分、函館駅から車で約10分。入口で靴を脱ぎ、館内には段差と急な階段があります。ベビーカーは玄関預かりです。衣裳館の受付は通常4～10月16時まで、11～3月15時までで、1～2月は火・水曜定休。個人は予約不要ですが、混雑や団体利用で早期終了する場合があります。10名以上や修学旅行は事前相談が必要です。

Great hall, history displays and balcony

Completed in 1910, the building served residents’ gatherings and the chamber of commerce. Visit history displays in the former billiard room, the small dining room’s film, rooms used for imperial visits and the great hall. The balcony overlooks the harbour. Hall hire or events may affect the areas open to visitors.

Construction closes the theatre room and part of the visitor route from October 21, with reopening planned around mid-December 2026. Other displays remain open as usual. The same film can be seen at the Journeys Theatre in the small dining room, and the large dining room also has a video area.

Admission and combined tickets

Admission is ¥300 for adults, ¥150 for students and schoolchildren, and free for preschool children. Groups of 20 or more pay ¥240 and ¥120 respectively. Combined tickets with the Old British Consulate, Northern Peoples Museum and Museum of Literature cost adults ¥500 for two sites, ¥720 for three or ¥840 for four; student prices are ¥250, ¥360 and ¥420. The Haikara costume experience is charged separately and accepts cash only.

Seasonal hours and closures

April–October hours are 09:00–18:00 Tuesday–Friday and 09:00–19:00 Saturday–Monday. November–March hours are 09:00–17:00, with last entry thirty minutes before closing. Full-day maintenance closures are November 17, 2026 and January 26, 2027. The year-end closure runs December 31, 2026–January 3, 2027.

Access and costume reception

About seven minutes uphill from Suehirocho tram stop or ten minutes by car from Hakodate Station. Shoes are removed at the entrance; the building has steps and steep stairs, and pushchairs are left at the entrance. Costume reception normally ends at 16:00 April–October or 15:00 November–March, closing Tuesdays and Wednesdays in January–February. Individuals need no reservation, but crowds or group use may end reception early. Parties of ten or more and school trips require advance arrangements.
