The former Fukui residence in Hamaderamotomachi is a whole-house stay with tatami rooms and a veranda looking onto a garden. It connects a visit with Hamadera’s history as a villa district. Families and friends can cook together and make time spent within the old house part of the trip.

A former Hamadera villa, garden and Japanese rooms
The owners and Sakainoma adapted a metal merchant’s former retreat for overnight guests. Early Showa features include shoji, sliding partitions and a garden-facing veranda. Three Japanese rooms, a Western room, kitchen-dining area, bathroom, garden and terrace are used by one party, with capacity advertised for one to six. Treat the old fittings carefully and leave time to enjoy the house itself. The booking covers the shared residence for the registered party, rather than separate hotel bedrooms reserved independently.
Self-catering and hotpot ordered four days ahead
The kitchen has tableware, cooking utensils, a refrigerator, rice cooker, microwave and toaster for preparing meals. Dotonbori Imai udon hotpot is a separately charged option, ordered at least four days ahead for a minimum of two portions; the listed two-person option is ¥13,500 including tax. A supermarket, convenience shop and bakery are within walking distance. Plan arrival-day supplies and dinner around the booking’s meal arrangements, so a self-catering stay does not depend on an assumed included dinner and there is time to enjoy the residence.
Check-in between 15:00 and 19:00 and house facilities
Check in 15:00–19:00 at the neighbouring metalware shop, Fukui Kiyoshi Shoten; checkout is 11:00. Indoors is non-smoking, with an outdoor smoking space. There is heating and cooling, Wi-Fi, a washing machine and an air purifier, while card and board games take the place of a television. Adjustable clothing is useful in an old house with traditional paper screens and partitions. Include children in the booking information and settle bedding arrangements for the actual party, since bedding and amenities are prepared around the registered occupancy.
Access from Otori and Hamadera Park, and costs
At 6-874-15 Hamaderamotomachi, Nishi-ku, about ten minutes from JR Otori Station or fifteen from Hamadera Park Station on the Nankai Main Line. Three dedicated parking spaces are provided. The location also suits walks towards Hamadera Park or Otori Taisha. Rates vary by dates, occupancy and plan; meal options are arranged separately. Osaka accommodation tax per person per night is exempt below ¥5,000 in the taxable room-only amount excluding consumption tax; ¥200 from ¥5,000 to below ¥15,000, ¥400 from ¥15,000 to below ¥20,000, and ¥500 from ¥20,000.
