Streamside rooms and semi-outdoor baths
Japanese rooms and twin/double Japanese-Western rooms offer mountain or stream views depending on the room. Hatsune, Wakaba and Matsukaze have semi-outdoor cypress baths supplied with flow-through spring water, as do the Sansuian special rooms. Other categories have no in-room bath, so match the named room with its facilities. The special rooms Wasuregusa and Himesayuri provide dedicated saunas; sauna access is not a facility shared by all standard-room guests.
Kaiseki around the irori hearth
Dinner is irori kaiseki, with fish, dengaku and Iwate beef cooked over charcoal or on a ceramic plate at the table. Dinner starts 18:00–19:00 and breakfast 07:30–08:30, both in the irori dining area. Private dining rooms or the larger dining space are assigned by party size. Order additional dishes when reserving or at least three days ahead. Food and drink brought into the guest room incur no charge, while bringing a drink into the dining area costs ¥3,300 per bottle.
Alternating access to Kajika and Kotobuki baths
The naturally arising mildly alkaline simple sulphur spring is used in flow-through baths. Kajika, including an outdoor bath, is for women 15:00–22:00 and men 23:00–10:00. Kotobuki indoor bath follows the reverse allocation; both close 22:00–23:00. Day bathing before check-in or after checkout is not offered, so access falls within 15:00–10:00. Although checkout is 11:00, communal bathing ends at 10:00; have breakfast and a morning bath before packing.
Free parking and stairs inside the inn
At 57-9 Dai Dai-2-chiwari, check-in begins 15:00 and checkout is 11:00. Around fifteen free parking spaces are opposite the inn. Stairs are used within the building, which is not barrier-free; consider movement to the baths and dining area when choosing a room for your party. Wi-Fi is available throughout, with refrigerators, safes and hairdryers in the rooms. Pets cannot stay. Allow around twenty minutes for a taxi to arrive after reception arranges one.
