1879年から続く洋食とカレー

五島軒は1879年創業で、レストランでは歴代の料理を受け継ぐカレーや洋食を扱います。イギリス風はビーフの中辛、フランス風はビーフの甘口、インド風はチキンの辛口、ネパール風は野菜の中辛と、料理の種類から味を選べます。イギリス風と明治のポークカレーを合わせる「あいがけ」もあり、一食で違うソースを味わえます。港町の歴史に触れる散策に、腰を落ち着ける食事を加えられる店です。

カレーと洋食の価格から注文を選ぶ

イギリス風、フランス風、インド風、ネパール風、明治のカレーは各1,870円、あいがけカレー2,200円です。あいがけハヤシ2,750円、蟹クリームコロッケ3個1,485円、ビーフシチュー3,630円などもあります。甘さや辛さ、肉や野菜の違いで選ぶと、同行者と別の料理を注文する目安になります。コースをゆっくり楽しむ日と、単品のカレーを中心にする日では、必要な予約やフロアが変わります。

ラウンジとレストランの予約条件を分ける

ラウンジは予約できず、当日の受付順です。レストランフロアはコースを5日前までに予約し、席だけ、セットや単品での予約はできません。予約料は1人363円で、飲食代にサービス料10％が加わります。個室SEKKAは5日前までの予約、室料12,100円と飲食代のサービス料10％で、昼夜それぞれ1組限定です。個室はコースまたは当日注文が選べるため、通常のレストラン予約と条件を混同せず使い分けます。

火曜定休と年末年始の短縮営業

所在地は末広町4-5です。昼は11時30分からLO14時30分、夜は17時からLO20時で、昼夜の間の時間に注意して街歩きを組み立てます。火曜は一部期間を除き定休日。12月31日はLO14時・15時閉店、1月1日と2日は休店です。コースには別の受付終了時刻があるため、予約した料理の時間で来店します。食後に元町や港方面へ歩く日は、日没や周辺施設の閉館も合わせて順序を選べます。

Explore the restaurant’s Western-food tradition

Founded in 1879, Gotoken continues a tradition of curry and Japanese-style Western cooking. Curry choices include medium-hot British-style beef, mild French-style beef, hot Indian-style chicken and medium-hot Nepal-style vegetable curry. The two-curry plate combines British-style beef with Meiji-style pork, allowing two sauces in one meal. This makes a seated food stop that can sit alongside a walk considering Hakodate’s history as an international port.

Choose from curry and Western dishes

British, French, Indian, Nepal and Meiji curries each cost ¥1,870; the two-curry plate is ¥2,200. Other examples include curry with hayashi sauce at ¥2,750, three crab cream croquettes at ¥1,485 and beef stew at ¥3,630. Compare heat, sweetness and the main ingredient when choosing separate dishes for a group. A leisurely course meal and a casual curry visit involve different reservation and seating arrangements, so decide the meal style first.

Separate lounge, restaurant and private-room booking

The lounge accepts walk-ins in arrival order. Restaurant-floor reservations require a course booking at least five days ahead; seat-only, set-menu and à-la-carte reservations are not accepted there. The reservation charge is ¥363 per person plus a ten-percent service charge on food and drink. Private room SEKKA requires five days’ notice, costs ¥12,100 plus the food/drink service charge, and accepts one party each lunch and dinner. Private-room meals may be courses or ordered on the day.

Allow for weekly and New Year arrangements

The address is 4-5 Suehiro-cho. Lunch begins at 11:30 with last orders 14:30; dinner begins at 17:00 with last orders 20:00, leaving a break between services. Tuesdays are closed except selected periods. December 31 has last orders at 14:00 and closes at 15:00; January 1 and 2 are closed. Courses have their own final starting times, so follow the booked meal’s schedule when combining dining with museum or waterfront visits.
