湯西川水の郷の食堂は、手打ちそばと山里の郷土料理を、大きな窓のある食事空間で楽しめる場所です。温泉、無料の足湯、吊り橋の散策と組み合わせられます。2026年9月から料理の価格と営業日が変わり、紅葉期の10・11月と通常月では開く曜日が異なります。

そばとばんだい餅の水の郷セット
看板の水の郷セットは、手打ちそばと、湯西川の郷土料理「ばんだい餅」を入れたサバ汁の組み合わせです。税込1,300円で、麺と温かい汁を一度に楽しめます。店内は全52席の開放的な食事空間で、山里の風景を眺めながら席で休めます。温泉や吊り橋へ立ち寄る日も、食堂の注文時間を中心に施設内を巡れます。
9月改定のそばと限定ダムカレー
2026年9月1日からの税込料金は、ざるそば900円、とろろそば1,000円、山菜きのこそば1,100円、えび天ぷらそば1,200円、かもつけそば1,400円です。からあげ定食は1,300円。湯西川源流の三河沢ダムを題材にするダムカレーは1,200円で1日10食の限定です。そばの種類とご飯物から、散策前後の昼食を選べます。
繁忙期と通常月で違う営業日
食堂は11～15時、ラストオーダー14時30分。通常は金・土・日・祝日のみで、月～木の平日は休みです。ただし2・7・8・10・11月は繁忙期として定休日を除き毎日営業します。施設の水曜定休は祝日なら翌木曜へ振替。年末年始は無休の案内ですが臨時休業もあります。団体や貸切予約を扱い、スノーパーク開催中だけは団体予約を受けません。
足湯と吊り橋を昼食に組み合わせる
所在地は湯西川473-1で、駅直結の道の駅湯西川とは別の施設です。館外に無料足湯、水車、大吊り橋があり、吊り橋から長寿の鐘へ進むプチハイキングは片道約15分の案内。食後に外を歩く日も、帰りの交通に合わせて距離を選べます。売店や温泉は食堂とは営業時間が異なり、食堂が閉じる15時を、施設全体の閉館時刻とは分けて利用できます。
日光市内で組み合わせる訪問先
湯西川温泉街の平家の里、本家伴久、水の郷は、山里の歴史、食事と入浴を組み合わせられる訪問先です。駅直結の道の駅は西川にあり、温泉街とは別の場所なので、バスや車で移動する時間を取れます。食堂の繁忙期営業、宿の夕食開始、平家の里の季節の閉館時刻を合わせ、冬は山道に余裕を持って巡れます。

Soba and the Mizunosato set
The signature ¥1,300 tax-inclusive Mizunosato set pairs handmade soba with mackerel soup containing Yunishigawa’s bandai-mochi dumplings. Noodles and warm local soup form one meal. Fifty-two seats occupy an open dining space with views of the mountain surroundings. When adding the hot spring or bridge, organise time in the complex around the food-ordering period.
Revised soba prices and limited dam curry
Tax-inclusive prices effective September 1, 2026 include zaru soba ¥900, yam soba ¥1,000, wild-vegetable/mushroom soba ¥1,100, prawn-tempura soba ¥1,200 and duck dipping soba ¥1,400. Fried-chicken set meals cost ¥1,300. Mikawasawa Dam Curry, inspired by the upstream dam, costs ¥1,200 and is limited to ten servings daily. Choose noodles or a rice-based meal for lunch around a walk.
Peak-month and ordinary opening days
The dining room opens 11:00–15:00, last orders 14:30. Ordinary service is Friday–Sunday and holidays, closing Monday–Thursday weekdays. In February, July, August, October and November it opens daily except the regular closure: Wednesday, or Thursday when Wednesday is a holiday. New Year opening is advertised, subject to temporary closures. Group and private bookings are available; group reservations are unavailable during the Snow Park event.
Adding the footbath and suspension bridge
At 473-1 Yunishigawa, this is a different complex from the station-connected roadside station. Outside are a free footbath, waterwheel and suspension bridge; the short hike from the bridge to the Longevity Bell is about fifteen minutes each way. Select a walk around the return transport available. The shop and hot spring use separate hours, so the dining room’s 15:00 closing does not describe the entire complex.
Other stops to combine within Nikko
Heike-no-Sato, Honke Bankyu and Mizunosato combine mountain history, food and bathing. The station-connected roadside stop is in Nishikawa, separate from the hot-spring village, requiring bus or car travel. Match peak-month dining, the inn’s dinner start and the museum’s seasonal closing time, allowing extra time for winter mountain roads.
